I've given up on anyone decent being announced for this festival, I'm not even going to bother looking at who they have announced until a few days before the festival. I only wanted to see 4 bands Metallica NIN Alice In Chains and Machine Head from the main stages and one of those has dropped out so that 3 bands on the main stages plus Oceansize and Cancer Bats from the other stages unless they clash with someone that I want to see.

The next announcement that they are bigging up on Twatter is obviously going to be Buckcherry and Saxon, yawn yawn.

I bought a ticket on the first day they went on sale expecting a great line up, it was sold on quality not quantity.

Maybe it comes down to taste but for me most of the bands announced later down the line, Heaven and Who, Feeder, Taking Back Sunday, Saxon, Buckcherry, The Used and Coheed and Cambria make no appeal to me at all.

Looks like I will have to check out a few of the lesser know bands and get pissed.

To be fair to Soni, if bands are pulling out at this stage they are pretty f**ked. There's not a lot they can do about it, and we're almost certainly going to be underwhelmed by the replacement. The same can, and does, happen to Reading, Download and everywhere else. What was it last year, Bring Me The Horizon standing in for Slipknot AND Avenged Sevenfold?

Sonisphere is obviously more susceptible because they've got fewer bands, but we knew that in the first place. Limp Bizkit, love them or hate them, are a big (albeit lucky) late addition, while Slipknot are blatantly being held back until Soni have no option but to use them.

When the festival is over, Kilimanjaro will need to sit down and ask themselves why so many bands are pulling out of this particular festival. But given that what's happened has happened, I don't see what more the organisers can really do about it.

So how many Saxon/H&H type bands have been announced for the main stage, besides Saxon and H&H ofcourse....And even at that Saxon and H&H arent even that similar - i can see a bit why they'd be grouped together as they are older metal bands but still...

I love it when people make stupid arguments, makes the debate alot easier Some peopel will try and moan about anything.

All of the bands that pulled out except Machine Head and Frank Turner who choose to do reading instead cancelled all their appearances this year. Sonisphere can't help Fear Factory's name issue, Thin Lizzy splitting up and The Sword deciding to write a new album. But only two people who pulled out I cared about were Machine Head and Thin Lizzy.
