BELLA ANNOUNCES EMERGING TALENT

Every year we are flooded with hundreds of applications from unsigned artistes wanting to play our HAIL Seedlings Stage, generously sponsored by Highlands And Island Live. The emphasis of the eventual choice is on talent from the Highlands and Scotland generally, but not exclusively so. It’s always a difficult task deciding whom to choose – and this year seems to be harder than ever as the flood of talent has become a deluge.

But the white smoke has gone up at last and the Seedlings will feature: Friday: The Side, Sergeant, St Deluxe, Flood of Red, Bronto Skylift, Healthy Minds Collpase, Cast of the Capital, Washington Irvine and Colour Coded. Saturday will feature: Our Lunar Activities, Punch & The Apostles, Theatre Fall, Party Horse, Sucioperro, Naked Strangers, Cruiser, Cassidy and Three Times Daily.

PEARL IN PLACE FOR BELLA CRUISE!

Fancy a night on Loch Ness with Glasgow indie sensations Pearl & The Puppets? Come and join our inaugural BellaCruise on Thursday August 6th .

The Royal Scot leaves Dochgarroch at 7.00 PM and returns at 10.00 PM. There’s a bar on board. If you prefer not to drive, a coach will leave The Ironworks at 6.45 PM and return there at approx 10.15 PM. Parking at Dochgarroch is limited. Tickets cost £10 boat only or £15 inclusive of return coach ride from The Ironworks and can be bought via The Ironworks in person or on

CRAZY BELLA FREE HUGS

Have a look at crazy Bella huggers, Andy, Rebecca and Tayler on YouTube as they empty an entire shopping centre in Inverness in the rush to get hugs out to the population.

They were spreading the love to publicise the initiative by Homecoming Scotland and Bella to encourage far-travelled friends and relatives to use the event as a reason to come back to the Highlands and reunite.

BELLABOOK - A NEW NETWORK FOR BELLA FANS

At last – a chance to inhabit the World of Bella for the other 364 days a year! Over the six years of its existence, Bella has gathered an army of loyal fans, many of whom now attend every year. To bring our friends together, we launched BellaBook, a networking site for Bella people on Tuesday July 14th. You are able to create your own profile, upload photos and talk to other Bella folk. See you on there!

SIDEBURNS

Have you got sideburns? To celebrate the advent of our Homecoming Scotland SideBurns Stage which features copious Burnsanalia at this year’s Bella, we’re offering a pair of 2010 tickets to the most impressive set of mutton chops displayed at the SideBurns at 8.30 PM on Saturday 8th August. Our celebrity panel will stroke their chins, address this ticklish issue and celebrate the most folically advantaged cheeks on display.

TRUE OR FALSE? Sideburns were originally known as Burnsides after Ambrose Everett Burnside (May 23, 1824 – September 13, 1881), an American soldier, railroad executive, inventor, industrialist, and politician from Rhode Island who cultivated whiskery cheeks.
