Ah the classic was watching one of the ladies from the butty van see the queue and promptly pop a squat behind the stand... and before anyone asks it was one of our girls that noticed it.

As for taking a woman to V for the first time, like anything be a bit understanding that she may not get the festival grunge/glam thing - Mexican showers (babywipes) may take some getting used to. On that note check what she is planning to take with her, back in 2000 I made this mistake and ended up lugging 4 girls kit up to red campsite - they had everything bar the kitchen sink and no way could they move them. Also check the footwear as first time festival goers sometimes try and wear stupid shoes 'because they look nice' - 6 hrs in and they may look nice but your unable to walk dear.

While relieving yourself up against the wall is minging it does serve a purpose, it keeps the queues down a bit and is better than someone filling a cup and chucking it. Best to plan a rest gap though in the middle of the day - when you've seen a couple of acts and had a few drinks - find an act you don't care about and go then (even better if you are moving between acts), and definitely go before the top two acts come on as you are guaranteed to want to go!

If she is desperate the poncho is a winner, just don't buy one of those orange, or other brightly coloured ones, get a green one that doesn't attract attention - otherwise you look like a matador on a break!

to be honest i don't blame boys or girls for pissing everywhere last two years i've been i've seen me wait with the gf for over an hour in a que for the toilets wish v would get more bogs

or just tell her to go commando and wear a skirt she can pee freely watching bands lol

Skirt or shorts allow the desperate to simply pull their knickers to one side and go. At V there are plenty of places to hide to do this, but it does also avoid the whole "squatting" shenannigans.

Not pretty or clever but neither is the toilet provision at V.

Look at the she pee thread but it can be difficult for the uninitiated and perhaps best to keep it simple.

The best and most refined practical solution is really if you can smuggle in a small coke bottle mixed with strong spirits and drink that instead of lager - then you don't need to go as often.

Also - take an empty fabric conditioner bottle (wide neck) to save her the trauma of nightime trips to the toilet on the campsite. The toilets are definitely scarier in the dark.
