the_frame
Blame my lack of sleep sorry, didnt mean usually, just meant they had played Reading before, Nirvana wanted em there, and they went down well. Also Biffoire, what do you mean you cant have a diverse lineup if you want quality over quantity?. I mean if we are looking quality taking away personal opinion and such then Bjorn again would probably fall under the quality banner, considering they have been endorsed by Abba themselves, and emulate one of the biggest bands in the world. MetalliKris
twaddle kipper, bjorn again are a tribute band, and dont deserve a set so high on such a prestigious stage, I know of a completely awesome AC/DC tribute band, but I would feel cheated if they were booked to play soni - BA are no different
Bluearsedfly
To be honest.... I'M GENUINELY CHUFFED TO BITS!! BA will be amazing fun! Shame they're not playing late into the night on the Bohemia stage when everyone's boozed up.
Happy Alien
The travesty of the entire festival is NIN before AX7, what the f**K?! Be way too light and NIN need the dark!!
biffoire
To be in the dark NIN would need to headline! It usually starts to get dark as Metallica soundcheck.

gary1979666
Hate to dash any hopes of this being a cover for the likes of Slipknot - the Sonisphere date is now up on the official BA website.

she bangs the drums
Larger festivals with larger line ups can afford novelty acts and joke additions as they have a plethera of other stages to choose from. If you are at T and BA are on the main stage, you can go to the T break stage, NME, Dance, king tuts, pet sounds. What do we get. The jager and bohemia!! The point i am driving at is this festival is run in a different way to other festivals (Less bands but apparently better bands than comparible fests) therefor, a cover band gimmick slot has a larger impact and for anyone who about to say.... go see someone else, on another stage! I simply default to 2 words that will be resonate through the ages... quality, not quantity!! I think someone said it best on the official forum.... the strapline should be changed from 'quality over quantity' to 'we have a few good bands!' Chill out peeps, give them a go it will be a gentle start to a mega day. The travesty of the entire festival is NIN before AX7, what the f**K?! Be way too light and NIN need the dark!! MetalliKris
This festival had a real chance to make its mark especially with discontent from rock/metal regulars of Reading and Leeds, Sonisphere started off with good intentions talking up the line up however this hasn't really worked out as expected for most people, ticket sales have gone pretty badly based on the give aways and now I am hearing that they have even been sending people who have won tickets, 4 instead of 2. The bottom line is I doubt I will bother buying a ticket next year until the line up is fully known and I'm sure there will be lots of others thinking like me who bought a ticket on the first day/early on this year. Saying all of the above (and the paying £170 for a two day festival is a distant memory) I am looking forward to going this year and will be going with the intention of having a great time. beLIEveR
For all my moaning, and even factoring in the fact that Bjorn Again really do appear to be playing, it's probably still the best festival lineup of the year for me. What will make or break any future Sonispheres is just how good all the other parts of the festival are, and whether they can book two (or three ) headliners next year that are anywhere near as big as Metallica and Linkin Park. Like she bangs the drum, I certainly won't be buying early next year, but it's too early to write this off altogether. The festival hasn't even happened yet! biffoire
lets look forward to a weekend of real music and no Maximo Park, and have a feckin great time.
tweemo freak
It's practically impossible, but can you imagine if when they're due to start the intro to BYOB starts and its an unannounced return of System of a Down! That would be the greatest thing ever... but almost impossible (I only say almost because all of the band members are alive and therefore it's not impossible, it's just as close as you can get to impossible without actually crossing that line)
dixietheduck
However much I'd love this to be a secret slot (liked the Serj Tankian theory!) I don't think Bjorn Again playing would be an awful thing. I saw them at Glastonbury last month and after the 8 hours of rain we'd just had they made me smile. I think it'll be a bit of fun! Lithium05
Surely if they had their hearts set on booking a cover band, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes would have been the best idea
