Weird PM message

I'm trying to reply to a PM and I keep getting messages like "You cannot send another PM until Aug 4 2009, 10:59 PM"

That'll be to stop spammers abusing the PM system.

Neil has put something on that stops people sending more than 1 PM every 5 minutes... which is annoying (sorry, but it is) as I'm often PMing more than one person.

It wasn't me so much as the forum software makers which put that on - and they did so as a result of spambots having worked out how to use and abuse the PM system; there had been thousands of spam PMs sent on these boards when I added in that new function that the software makers released, and it's precisely because of those spam PMs that the restriction was put in place.

I accept it's annoying, but it's less annoying than these forums becoming near enough unusable due to spammers. You are still able to send all of the PMs you might need to send.
