Hows everyone else planning on getting there this yr with the train strike? apart from driving of course! any ideas?

National Express East Anglia have proposed a strike on the Friday and Saturday (I think)...there's deffo one that weekend anyway.

Driving, luckily! Could always try coach or walking? Make a video diary, it would be a YouTube hit!

There are still trains running to Chelmsford just not nearly as many. Just check what times they are running and perhaps try and get there a bit earlier? It will probably be a bit more crowded but it will all add to the fun I'm sure. Just plan ahead.

It's the services for this weeks industrial action but gives you an idea of times and frequencies etc.

The strike is still on for this week and they have now said they will strike for a whole week next month so sounds like next weeks will go ahead.

If you are still coming by train I would suggest getting one as early as possible on the Friday, if coming from London, having tried to get home from London last week at 4pm it was a total nightmare, there wasn't enough room for us commuters let alone a load of tents.

Of course if any of you see Bob Crow at Liverpool St next week please feel free to tell him what you think of him & his stupid strikes.........

train strikes will be affecting the friday, 1 train an hour will be running in either direction. Saturday, sunday and mondays services will run as normal.

Definately try to get there early - the commuter trains are rammed in the evenings with the strike (did you know the drivers get paid an average of £42,000 per year and they are striking for more play. Sack them and I'll take their job thanks!) so tenst, beer etc being carried will add to the misery.
