Won't work for all of you, but my tactic is always to give all my dosh and valuables (i.e. one camera) to my big f&*k off boyfriend and let him worry about it. He dishes out the cash and beer vouchers I need to take when I am not with him, and he's a very light sleeper so if some tosspot does come in our tent in the middle of the night, accidently or not, they will get a smack

Makes me glad I have a big f&%k off boyfriend actually, otherwise methinks one of those lockers is the way to go!! )

I too have never had any problems over the years however, last year in yellow campsite there was a problem with smack heads. As yellow is independent you were able to buy camping only tickets which they did then went round robbing during in the day! We had a run in with some on one of the evenings when they were going around hassling people even those with kids asking where they could score some H! Truly shocking.

Although it won't help anyone get caught, at festivals I tend to put all my money and valuables right at the bottom of my sleeping bag, as it would be near impossible for a thief to get to it without waking me.

Just an idea for you, and id really suggest everyone does this

I usually put my valuables inside of my pillow that works good aswell.

I'm a girl camping alone for the first time and although this board freaked me out at first by the time I got to the end I felt much more reassured :-) . . . just one more workday not sure if I'll sleep the next couple of nights I'm far too excited.

ome point made me laugh about getting out of the tent fast if it caught fire - have seen this happen at glasto (nobody in it!) and trust me they go up rather quickly
