eFestivals
Interesting how Bon Iver polarised opinion though just another down-beat act amongst too many downbeat acts I reckon. The crowd were too bored by the other acts to give it a proper go. I guess that due to your stage announcing, you didn't get to hear the audible sighs of relief when something upbeat happened from the stage (not that it happened a lot cos there wasn't much that was upbeat ). I loved Summer Sundae more than ever as a fest overall, but I reckon you could do with returning to the variety you used to have on the main stage rather than going the same durgey way as this year again. eFestivals
Not wanting to automatically cast aspersions on Gigwise, but I was thinking the Friday review doesn't give a lot of specific eyewitness detail when I came to "Over on the indoor stage, human beatbox Beardyman..." SweepingTheNation
Was it downbeat? Bon Iver came between Easy Star All Stars and the Zutons, and the reviews tend to lean towards "folk, dull, yawn" rather than any attempt to engage with it. I don't think, the few who caught Monotonix aside, anyone's really getting great proper reviews across the board so far.

fullfathom5
I preferred the mad beat box guy than Bon Iver if i'm honest - just wasn't feeling it! But that's not to say they weren't/aren't good, just didn't float my boat!
