My Last Minute NIGHTMARE!

My baby bro came home last night with a limp! I thought it was little amusing I must admit, but being the bloke that he is it it's unusual for him to say when something is painful. He was obviously in a lot of pain in his ankle. But he hadnt fallen or knocked it or anything. So I sent him off to bed to sulk in his own space!! I woke him up this morning and he said it was worse and it was all swollen and not nice so I took him down the the A&E.

5 hours later.... we have almost been kicked out for being stupid. His fault for making me laugh that he was going to try and get the sympathy vote off of Lily Allen!! Anyway, thankfully his ankle is not broken, which is good, but he has an inflamation in the joint. So they have given him a load of tablets and some crutches!!

He's not happy. Doctor told him he shouldn't drink and he has to be on the crutches. On the plus side (for him) we (ie me and the girls) have to carry all his stuff to the campsite! And I now have to do all of the washing and stuff that he was supposed to do this morning when I get home from work tonight. Ooh I'm gonna need a sleep come Friday!!!

Has anyone ever done V on crutches, cus I don't know whether to panic or laugh at the moment?

Also, anyone else having any last minute hiccups!? I can't be the only one!!!

It's gonna be dry so I would say not too bad but if it starts raining tell himn to get back to the tnet, can you imagine trying to get through the mud on crutches.

I would possible tell him to get off it on pain killers and hobble around all wekend minus the crutches and worry about the extra damage he has caused when he gets back.

hi hun

I play in a roller derby team and have seen (and had lol) a few injuries similar to this,to ease the swelling and pain the best thing to do is alternate between hot and cold compress say 10 mins each time.

he might be able to forgo the crutches or at least be more comfy!

.x

I'm guessing you'll be there before us (we're planning to get there at 8.30ish now) but if we're in and set up and you need a lift with your bro's stuff then give us a shout mate .

The e-festers helped us last year when our cart broke so i'm more than happy to give you a lift - we could even wheel your bro to the camp in our shiney new wheelie bin

Bekimo it just goes to prove if you hope for something enough it comes true... how long has he been hoping he doesn't have to lug all the kit?

If you get stuck and can't carry it all my number is on the efest list, am camping in blue but could help you lug some items down once I'm all set.

I am off now without computer so txt us if you need a hand

I have done V on crutches before, V97 I broke my Tibia day before we were due to go, ended up with a full length pot on and still went!! Mind you I only did the day though and not the weekend.

The V crowd are very good and you get the help you need!!

Arrrggghhhh....

My mate injured his leg pretty bad at football last night, and is now on crutches for V... Well, he text me this morning saying that his festival is in doubt :D

However, I'm going to tell him that 'loads of people' have done V before on crutches, and to grow some balls!
