Wristbands - Standard/Trader/VIP

OK so they have sent out wristbands this year as we all know, all the red/yellow camping weekend camping wristbands all have these state of the art security measures on which from what i can see has a little barcode on the fastener, which i'm assuming will be scanned on entry to the festival.

I have a friend working there at the moment setting up a stall and he has a traders band which has no barcode on it?

I also have a friend who has received VIP wristbands instead of a VIP ticket and that also has no barcode.

I am thinking of buying a VIP weekend camping wristband myself, but as it has no barcode am wondering if it is genuine? Or are the traders and VIPers not getting scanned/do not have barcodes?
