No arriving on Wednesday till 6pm

Seem to be very strict this year..

Just recieved this email..

Dear Keva

Please be aware of the information below regarding Reading Early Entry:

Early Entry Permits allow entry to the Reading Festival from 6pm on Wednesday

26th August. There is no comfortable waiting area or facilities for anyone

arriving too early. The festival site is based adjacent to a main road and so

please bear your safety, festival staff's safety and the safety of the road

users in mind. Please do not arrive earlier than your ticket permits. Only

people who have pre-purchased an Early Entry Permit in addition to a valid

Weekend Festival ticket will be able to enter the campsite from 6pm on

Wednesday.

There is no box office at the Reading Festival this year and there will be no

tickets for sale at all. If your friends do not have Early Entry tickets,

they will not be able to enter the campsite until after 8am on Thursday 27th

August.

Yea I got it as well, was just about to post. Seems like they are trying to be a lot more strict this year after last year's carnage.

Suits me fine considering the coach won't get in until 7pm anyway, was worried all the decent spots would be gone by then. At least I hope they are going to stand by it this year. I wonder if 6 hours of relentless mobs trying to get in will unfortunately persuade them otherwise

I'm pretty sure that i have seen that the early entry tickets allow entry at 200pm.

I swear I read somewhere that normal tickets will allow you entry at 3am?

My mates are taking my stuff in for me whilst I'm at the Arsenal v Celtic match, then I'm heading down after...hope I don't have to pay for an early entry for the sake of two hours!

im gna aim to get there for about 1pm.

dont mind waitin 4 hours tbh.! even tho im sure last year they opened way early?

I'm sure one of the festival republic bods on the official forums said that although the original release was that there would be no entry before 6, but that tht has now been moved to 2pm.

I guess its because of the increased allocation of EE tickets, if you have lots more people coming then you need to startletting htem in earlier or the queues would be crazy!

Think we got there for about one last year and the campsite was already open. Train tics booked so ive no choice but to get there for one now.

There are lots of changes this year with Tickets and Arrival times, Reading Festival will not be opening the gates until 6pm on Wednesday and only if you have an early bird ticket, so please DO NOT arrive before this time as you will be turned away untill the appropriate time. and do NOT arrive on Wednesdy unless you have the right tickets.

and lets face it, its 6pm every year but they opened at 12:45 last year. this is my 3rd wednesday and ive always gone early and never waited till 6pm.

im still getting there for 10-11am like last year. theres no harm sitting in the queue drinking for a few hours. and if it doesnt open till 6, then so be it, its reading festivallllll no one will care!
