How strict are they on purchasing alcohol?

Ok I'm nearly 18 and most people say I look older and have got into clubs before without ID. So am I likely to be able to buy alcohol there?

-Edit Found another post on it, Looks like a resounding no.... How about the local shops?

If you're going to Weston, there are no local shops! I think there is a tesco near Chelms but I think supermarkets are going to be fairly strict on id as well - they can lose their licence if they sell and are caught. They all seem to be tightening up and asking for id if you look under 25 never mind 18!
