A few of my m8s don't know what the emaning of the word sleep is at festivals:) well we have a boombox that is abour 50 watts or so am sure it wont be that disturbing but good to know we're allowed some tunes. Gonna be there from the Wednesday so will need tunes!

Is it hard to get campervan tickets?

I have been to glastonbury a few times so I know the score. It IS a festival and I dont need you telling me where I should be going when you really dont how me or what even what I classify as noisy. Just because I said my friends dont like to sleep doesnt mean they are noisy so keep your opinions to yourself unless you actually know us personally.

I for one like to sleep. At the end of the day most of us require it but I dont like to be told how I should be behaving by judgemental people like you.

Go get a life and if you really want to sleep get a hotel.

After a hard day's partying and one last slog up the Hill of Death to the Campervan Field...you will be going straight to bed and absolutely no need for playing any of your own music! Then up with the lark to go and do it all over again the next day!

HAHA. this is exactly why I don't post on here anymore. or at least til close to next years festival.

Someone makes a valid point and others who dont share that point, dont just argue against it but come back really nasty. Before this years festival there was a real good vibe on here but since it just stinks.

Anyway. As per music in the campervan field. There normally just isn't any. It is classed as a quiet field and its far enough away for it to be a real pain to get to and from it without just coming back and sleeping.

It baffles me why anyone would want to play taped music for hours on end at night in the middle of the world's biggest music festival. Surely if you want music then enjoy the live music that goes on 24h hours a day. this is not telling anyone how to act or forcing opinions, just seems like common sense.

And why not camp and be in the middle of lots like minded people and enjoy the party atmosphere and be close to everything rather than force yourself on a part of the festival that IS quieter at night.

It takes all kinds of people to make this wonderful festival

You are SO right - dont think I can remember my head hitting the pillow any night.

As far as music goes, I did enjoy putting my stereo on in the morning, at moderate volumes  , whilst showering, making the beds, preparing lattes, using my personal toilet and cooking a full breakfast.

And therein lies the personal debate - luxury, but no all night parties. Or roughing it in the camping fields but a fantastic atmosphere.

;):):)

FS you asked earlier when I suggested the boomboxboy might consider Reading or V if he wants to party loudly all night whether I was in the Caravan Club.

FYI I'm not. Next year tickets permitting I'll be a trailer tent newbie (although a Glasto camping veteren).

For my information, although I'm sure some of your comment is tongue in cheek, I'm fascinated by your comments about showering and personal toilet. Is that because you've got a motorhome or have you found alternatives? I'm wondering about solar showers and portapotties. Any advice on their worth would be appreciated.

Tongue was deffo in cheek - I am a fully paid up member of the Caravan Club.

I have a caravan, its called Stevie - coz its cool and its Red.

I am well used to using the loo onboard coz I tend to camp in remote sites that tend to just be a farmers field - look up CL's on the CC website.

The portaloos in the campervan field E17 were really clean, so a portapotti probably not required. Also I wouldnt bother with a solar shower, they are crap. Just boil a kettle of water and have a strip wash in the trailer tent.

Any more questions - just ask

Thats Stevie below btw

To be honest I've joined the Camping and Caravanning Club rather than the CC - again to get access to small sites. My guess was that solar showers were a waste of time.

Any tips of best time to arrive as Glasto with a caravan/trailer tent? Reading some posts it seems that early arrivals get directed into the fields that were furthest away. We've had a regular, excellent camping spot for years in Home Ground (even had flush toilets there this year). Is there a particular field / spot you'd recommend for caravans and trailer tents?

I'm also wondering about still taking a small tent to join our friends by day who'll still be camping in Home Ground and then return to the TT at night.

Final question (for the moment) I notice that you've got a wheel clamp. What would you recommend for security (not just at the fest but when stopping at motorway services etc) - a wheel clamp or a tow hitch lock?

As you've shown me yours, I thought I'd show you mine.

Only the left hand end is the trailer tent. The bit with windows is a zip on double awning but it makes for a huge kitchen/eating/chilling area.

We're still new to it but you can pitch and put up the main trailer tent, which has two double bedrroms, in about ten minutes. I reckon it's another 45 minutes to put up the double awning and do a final peg down.
