how did this year compare to previous years?

well there were a few excellent sets, alot of average sets and even more below average sets.

away from the crowd was obnoxious, arrogant and rude! in my opinion the atmosphere gets worse and worse at leeds and to many pricks around.

to many people packed into the site, especially the main stage. There will be an accident if they keep going for profit over safety, with the burger vans being so close.

thought the security, customers upport etc etc were top notch and no complaints there.

food wise int he villiage wa a bit basic and could of had bit more variety, but thats a petty gripe.

getting in and out of the site on wednesday and monday was good aswel and was easy and quick.

overall a good weekend, but just cant understand why people who go have to be aggressive and dicks at leeds. I dont think they will be able to get back what festival crowds used ot be like and it will be like it or go elsewhere.

Better than previous years IMO. Only gripe was the sheer size of the crowd for Kings of Leon. I don't know whether its because they've suddenly become popular or whether there were far too many sunday tickets sold but it was unbelievably packed right up to the back of the main stage. My girlfriend has problems with her joints and her leg gave way. She had a panic attack because of this and getting her out of the crowd was a nightmare!

Other than that I was pretty impressed with this years Leeds. At the back the sound quality was the best I've ever heard at this festival and I've been going since 2004

I went on the Friday and agree that whoever organised the travel arrangements to and from the festival did an outstanding job. Unfortunately I was very dissapointed with the Arctic Monkeys. Seemd to be no atmosphere.... the sound was crap where I was standing ( to the left /toward back of main stage). Watched them on TV at Reading and there was loads more interaction with the crowd. Alex seemed pissed off in Leeds and didnt really play to the crowd...ie too many new songs/slow songs and not enough fast/old songs. Should have saved the new ones for an Arctic Monkey concert.... not a festival!!

line up wise its been getting poorer year upon year. the 2002 line up for me was the best one I've been to.

The campsite was fine, I was situated within blue valley and with the exception of some 'red army' types lashing stuff at another set of people further down the path there wasn't very much trouble.

The security were perfect, stopped to adivse us about keeping are valuables safe and being on hand throughout the sunday night putitng out dangerous fires.

The decision to relocate the nme/radio1 stage in the past 2 years has been the best decision they've made regarding the arena since it moved to Braham Park, but if they keep on increasing the capacity every year theres going to be a horrible accident eventually.

I was that side too and there was loads of space. However on friday night was the other side for the prodigy and i think people walk into the arena see the main stage and then stop - don't bother moving round to where there is more space.

I don't feel the festival is as friendly as it used to be. People seem to stick to there own groups and you get less daft chat with strangers. Probably because I'm getting older and the average age of people at the festival is dropping. Being 27 you feel odd being pissed and talking to a group of 17 year olds. :P
