I was wondering if anyone knows of the proximity of the site to a pub which may show sky sports?

There is football on on the sunday which it is vital i see.

Don't know anything about pubs there BUT I recently trialled Sky Sports Live mobile service on me phone and was VERY impressed with the quality, even for the test match when Broad was steaming through the Australian upper order. Not available on all contracts - if you've got an iPhone I think you're screwed - and it will depend on the quality of the signal but you never know your luck! You can join for £1 for the day or £5 for the month

Guessing that you'd be looking at a trip to either Blandford Forum or Salisbury - don't think any of the country pubs or those in Shaftsbury will be showing the game.

The nearest pub is The Inn on the Chase, on the Salisbury/Blandford Road - might be worthwhile phoning to check if it has Sky, or even if it's open - as it had a fire recently. Others are the Drovers in Gussage St.Michael or quite a few in Shaftesbury. Be warned, the NEAREST must be at least two miles away!!!!

I have it on reasonably decent authority that the Ship in Shaftesbury will be showing the game, about a 15 minute drive away, apparently.

Probably best to phone and check.

Im sorry. I just got oversarcastic and yes it does get me into trouble. My memories of EOTR is that it is out in the middle of the countryside. I know that there is a Weatherspoons in Salisbury but thats a 20 min drive away I think! Maybe someone else wants to go to? You could put a post to see if anyone else wants to drive to a pub and that would save having to order a taxi. My apologies.

Wahey, good to see some fellow bluenoses at EOTR. I am planning on attending the previously mentioned "Ship inn" with one other blues fan, possibly 2 if Fat Buddha gets permission from his better half?

Taxi might be expensive though, it is 8 miles away so hopefully my mate will be driving. We might be able to sort something out?

Just rang the Ship Inn, the guy said would most likely be on at least one of the two TVs. Also asked about taxi, he said would probably be around £20 as he said the taxis are rubbish around there.

If there was 4-5 of us though would be worth doing (villa fans excluded)
