Campervan requirement criteria

We have just looked at the requirements for the campervan field and it states that the vehicle must have a bed and washing OR cooking facilities. Our type 2 VW camper has a fitted rock and roll bed but we don't have fitted washing or cooking facilities. I presume they won't check every vehicle entering the campervan field but does anyone know if we would be denied access at the gate?

I would think you are quite safe in a T2 VW. I have never been searched before ( T25 ) - as said above its the dubious Transits with no windows they are looking out for. I did have a mate who worried about this same as you in a T2 and he used one of those camp kitchens ( about £30 ) with a portable gas stove on top - and made it look like a permanent install by duck taping it to the floor the surrounding the whole thing with wood effect wallpaper! They didnt even stop him...

I'm glad someone else has asked this because we're wondering the same thing. We're about to buy a stunning VW splitty with only a rock and roll bed in the back. I had hoped that because it's an old VW we should get through because its obviously a camper and it has a fixed bed but sometimes you never know who your going to get on the gate and if your unlucky enough to get a jobsworth then I'm woried they'd turn us away.

Has anyone gone in something similar?
