Alchemy Festival
Who do YOU want to headline Sat night at Alchemy?? I would prefer someone with a electronic edge but.. Get your suggestions in now! If someone has already suggested who you want then second it, be sensible though, only a small fest. Will be taking note and will try my best to get who everyone wants! Alchemy Festival
“The amusingly-monikered Knob Jockeys are no slouches when it comes to thrashing, trashing and mangling beats. Charging maniacally through fidget, electro, breaks and adding a soupçon of dubstep, they crunch together tracks [...] to create a noisy, bass wobbling blast of a mix. Those who like it raw should investigate now...” DJ Magazine Knob Jockeys are three DJs/producers based in Manchester playing electro, dubstep, house and breaks. 2009 proved to be a busy year: • Dubstep producer Rusko picked out their minimix of their own productions to play on his BBC 1Xtra show. The mix was subsequently selected by Mixcloud as a featured mix. • They played some great gigs including Carry On alongside Rennie Pilgrem and rocked-out Beatherder Festival. • DJ Magazine chose their September dubstep/electro mix as the Pick ʻnʼ Mix highlight of the month. 2010 looks very promising too - January saw their first official release in the form of a remix of Vortech's Wub Steppin' for Kiss My Bass Records. Itʼs described as "smatterings of dubstep, breaks, house and electro in a spiraling and exciting remix". Their current remix of JOKRʼs Snaggletooth has received great support from the music-blog world and has been played by Kissy Sell Out on his Radio 1 show. Their calendar is already filling up with gigs in Liverpool, Manchester and at Alchemy Festival. Alchemy Festival
Back from last year, at the Weekender and Sept Alchemy - The Beetroot Kings THE BEETROOT KINGS are a Mansfield based five piece folk/rock/pop band who formed in the may 2007. Gary Armstrong lead singer, guitarist and songwriter in THE BEETROOT KINGS states, "Its taken a lot of hard work to find the right musicians to build a band with as the stuff i write isnt exactly mainstream (at the minute!!!) I met Dan Booth 7 years ago, he was playing fiddle in warsop based band FEROCIOUS DOG, I was fronting ollerton based band MILE HIGH MOVER. Ever since we've met up regularly and jammed ideas and songs. He fits so well into what i write. Tomo is my cousin and taught me guitar when i was fifteen, wicked bassist. I originally planned to work as a solo artist but soon realised that because we all work so well together, i don't need the solo directing control thing. And as we are all reading from the same sheet, I scrapped the solo idea and THE BEETROOT KINGS were born this year in may. Shortly after the decision to form a band we all met Benny through friends locally, being so young his talent for all things in music made us feel sick with envy, so he was in straight away" THE CALLING E.P is the first studio release from THE BEETROOT KINGS. Alchemy Festival
The Impossible More than music, more than dance, The Impossible are a “true” live totally improvised psychedelic audio visual experience. Applying a hard dance sensibility to a core guitar bass and drums format The Impossible mutate soundscapes and blow minds. Collaborating on site specific shows with guest vocalists, performance artists, musicians and VJs every show tells a new story. Nothing is impossible. Everything is propelled forward by the vibe of the night at the speed of the gig. The Impossible improvise psychedelic noise and loops to create an electrifying impulsive driven spectacle. Costumed dancers spin strut and collide with musicians and audience building a show in psychedelic spells. The show is refined every summer at a disused granite quarry in Britanny, France. Alchemy Festival
Hi Thought I would give a update. Licence is in place! The Stages at Alchemy in Sept will cut off at 12 Midnight except the Mushroom which will continue till 3am and Psychedelic breakfast will run 24hrs! This will not be too loud all night so as to allow people on the campsite to sleep! Jody will be providing the Opus rig for the Mushroom as he did last year. Alchemy Festival
Saw them indeed - most unusual and well worth watching even by daylight - at night could be very unreal. Edited May 20, 2010 by Alchemy Festival

Alchemy Festival
Deffered Sucess After playing at the weekender now at the main Alchemy in September! Deferred Sucess could be called the Crazy adventures of Doozer and his mates. But I think thats too long, but Deferred Sucess sums up my life. Always trying, never giving up and never failing. Not always getting what I set out to do, never as I thought it'd be, but its always better than I could ever wish for. This "band" has had so many floating members, people drift in and out. I always confuse people when i start talking about it. I think I confuse myself a lot of the time.
