Alchemy Festival
Alchemy festival's new home!! Scholey Park - Lincolnshire, for those that know scholey park I am sure you will be as exited as I am about the move. For those that don't believe it or not its a nicer venue than the old one and more suitable for Alchemy! There are taps on site, A beautifully wooded area, Wildlife areas, Fire pit, and its away from houses which was the main problem with the other site! I do hope to put on a acoustic festival on the other site in 2011 so keep your ears open for news about that too! Directions to the new site are below. A good general map: Google map A more accurate / specific map. Multimap A satellite map: A satellite map -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Directions by Road From the North head to Lincoln, then to Horncastle on the A158. From Horncastle make your way to Coningsby on the A153. Once you get to Coningsby, continue until you reach the 30mph signs. Turn right onto Wharf Lane (watch out for the surprisingly sharp right-hand bend 200yrds after the farm!!), and continue for 3/4 mile. You will see the Alchemy weekender on your right hand side. From the South head to Sleaford then to Coningsby on the A153, then turn left towards Kirkby on Bain (and follow the signs!) You will see the Alchemy weekender on your right hand side about 1 mile out of Coningsby, on the road to Kirkby on Bain. Where? About a mile outside of Coningsby on the road to Kirkby on Bain. [if you click on the google map - you'll see its the spot with the green arrow above it]. [tip:] Print the map as it is, then zoom out a bit - make sure you can still see Coningsby - and print again. These print-outs will match up to any standard road map. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Public Transport Information -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [interconnect bus timetables:www.lincsinterconnect.com] Take a bus or a train to Lincoln. Turn right as you walk out of the train station car park, cross at the pedestrian crossing on your left. Turn right, and continue past the Italian restaurant on your left, you will then see Lincoln City Bus Station on your left, approx. 100 yards from the pedestrian crossing. - Less than 1 minute walk from the train station. From Lincoln City Bus Station to Tattershall Thorpe - Route 5 - Costs around £3.60 Single Get off at Tattershall Thorpe, just past the pub: it's called The Blue Bell - a small thatched pub on your right hand side. Keep walking in the same direction as the bus, the road goes round some S bends. Take the next left (on the bend by the woods), continue to the T-junction (400m), turn left and continue for 1/4 mile. You will see the the Gathering on the right hand side. This is quite a long walk if you're carrying a lot of stuff: like tents. It takes about 20mins to 1/2 an hour: but it's flat - no hills to struggle up - and its quite a nice walk. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alternatively... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From Lincoln to Horncastle - Route 6 Timetable: www.lincsinterconnect.com/timetables/interconnect6.pdf (Main Lincoln to Skegness Interconnect Service). - Currently costs around £3.60 single and then From Horncastle to Tattershall Thorpe - Route 6K This is small 12 seater mini-bus. Tell the driver, you want to get off on Kirkby Lane - between Kirkby on Bain and Tattershall. - Costs about £2.00 single

Alchemy Festival
Have you now? Where were they last fest? I assume the new venue will allow enough space between tents? (Like last time ) Map makes me think it's about the same distance from London, but I've forgotten where last time was.
Paul ™
The new site should be about 40 mins closer to you I think! Its a extra 40 mins for me anyway But closer for most people
Alchemy Festival
Green Man Music Doug Peters mixes a slightly progressive rock vocal style reminscient of Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson with some emotive guitar playing and song writing. Doug has been playing and writing for many years and his worldwide travels has meant he is something of a hidden secret in Hull's musical scene, grab the chance to see him live before he sets off for places and venues ranging from London, Edinburgh, Mexico and even further. William of Walworth
festivaldeb and I are now pretty damned likely to be heading to the September Alchemy -- all the way from South West Wales! We were recommended Alchemy by Flip (of this forum) and we're more or les committed now to taking his suggestion up. I understand there is a large beer tent with many real ales -- can you please confirm this Mr Organiser? (there doesn't seem to be a mention on the website that I could see). We need to know as we're CAMRA types who favour ale friendly festivals in the summer ...
timespeedsup
Alchemy Radio Thursday night 9pm to midnight - sample the musical wares of this year's Alchemy (including a few as-yet unconfirmed acts) and remember last year's good times with some of last year's music. Plus banter in the chatroom same time via this link /chat/flashchat.php">here, where The Alchemist may or may not be in residence
