This is one I really fancy going to as well, but it depends a lot on cost, work, etc

are there any other festivals on in Germany the week before or week after that are a little bit smaller as well?

While I'm there I may as well have a little holiday.

I went last year, it was my first fest outside the UK. It was absolutely awesome. :angry:

The great thing is that the majority of the fest is held on the nurburgring race track so even if it rains (which it did quite ofter and quite heavy) you arnt having to swim thru muddy fields!

Im defo gunna go back next year. Hope that all the rumours are true!

Saw that Rammstein have teh headlning, thats fab, love them. Some others I would love to see Paradise Lost, Gun (www.gunofficial.co.uk), Tribe, Within Temptation, Nightwish and I could go on.

Went last year and loved it so much I wanna go back with more of mates even though 4 was enough to enjoy ourselves.

Looking at headlines um .. GnR supposedly world touring would be huge for me personally. Linkin Park would be great too. I can give or take Muse. Saying this really I only saw part of Prodigy's set, Billy Talent & Bizkit out of the headliners. Id more likely see a different band to Rammstien too.

I would love to other 2 headliners to be either Foo Fighters , Green Day or Pearl Jam

Not a fan of their recent albums but the Muse live shows are amazing and well worth a watch.

Foo's are promoting a greatest hits so I'd imagine they would play, but I think I'd give them a miss, seen them about 15 times and the magic has worn a bit thin in recent years.

Blink might be a good shout. LP, Bizkit and Rammstein would be a definite for me.

I think Squig is merely pointing out that like last year, should try and stick to 1 RAR thread.... Can anyone really be arsed reading 50 threads like the Beni ones this year... dreadful!

Not to mention that most questions that anybody has have already been answered, and those answers been compiled in the FAQ. It makes a lot of sense to have the FAQ in the first post instead of keepin giving links to it. Thats why I thought we should use 'my' thread instead of this one...

Oh and we should also keep in mind that RaR and RiP are, like Leeds and Reading, concerning everything other than the line ups different festivals, so should also have to seperate threads. Camping, composition, rules and getting there are completely different for both festivals.

I just checked back to last years forum and the first batch of bands were announced on 19th December...so we have maybe another month to wait and see who else gets announced.

When will they please f**k off!?? dont get me wrong theyr a great band but bloody hell they seem to play everywhere....i just want to go to a festival where Metallica are NOT playing for once, just one! please baby jesus! right im off out to a bar....no doubt Metallica will be there also setting up in the corner

another festival im thinking of going to, but is it basically a gig on a racetrack? or is there more stuff going on say after the bands have finnished?
