I am getting a pop out window for a film called Tormented? Its screwing up my internet, and each time I click on the efestivals site, another window pops out. Can this be turned off or got rid of?

Apologies. It should stop happening very shortly.

The ad house that we use switched to another system yesterday, and there's been a number of teething troubles, and I suspect this is one of them. I've just contacted them and made them aware of this issue, and they're sorting it as I speak.

It might be the case that it takes 15 minutes or so to properly stop, as ad-servers (depending which they're using) sometimes deliberately don't update any changes instantly.

Aaaarggghhhhh, dunno about anyone else but I'm certainly still being tormented by this bl**dy thing I have to say !! My issues are probably mostly down to Ye Olde Puter and all that but it's driving me (and it) totally nuts. Sure hope I don't need to be on here tomorrow as there's absolutely no way that will be in any way sensible or reliable if this d@mn thing is still around :O several reboots already because apart from the numerous popups, few of them actually load properly in any case now so everything eventually grinds to a complete halt and them bombs. About the only somewhat amusing thing is that I seem to be frequently getting this from their server(s) (not from efests):

Server Error in '/' Application.

Server Too Busy

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Blah, blah, blah.

Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.3082; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.3082

Yay !!! All gone now, mucho thanks :( What a right old PITA it's been over the last few days, talk about *bad* advertising - Rule #1: Don't p1$$ off potential customers

... wanders off to add yet another product/service to the "NEVER use, buy, look at, think about or even vaguely dream about" list due to them seriously p1$$ing me off bigtime :)

Having had everything about this ad investigated, everything about it should now be sorted - and so it's been re-enabled.

I very much hope it's not going to cause anyone any further problems. Please let me know if it does by posting here, and please include the following info to help track down any problems:-

1. what exactly is happening.

2. your computer operating system and version.

3. your web browser and version.

  • 4 weeks later...

I had the same problem. There's also a Flash ad that wrecks havoc with my PC. It uses100% CPU capacity and the only way t stop i is to kill the Firefox process and start it again. (Ubuntu + Firefox 3.5)

It's left me no choice but to install the AdBlock plug-in for Firefox

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

Everything runs a lot smoother now.
