grumpyhack
Anyone know anything about the proposed location of the new Campervan West Field? Hopefully no Hill of Death but still not sure how far out of the main site it will be.
StoneCircle
This year is was going to be in W21 but everyone went in East in the end. Its closer to Park and Other Stage and no Hill of Death! We are going to be in East as I missed the option!!

al_coholic
I know ME said there were going to be 1000 more campervan spaces for 2010 taking the total to 5000. I guess the extra 1000 will be on the West Side, probably in the spaces identified on this years fine guide. Strange thing is that the ticket info on the official site hasnt got any mention of you having to choose east or west when you book tickets. Bit of a dilemma now because I have always been East Side, and like most of the entertainment close by gate c, but the queues to get in and out are crap so with only 1000 Campervans on the West Side and no Hill it could be the better option. Cannock Albion
That picture is my only concern, I have been in the past when the West car parks have been closed due to the rain. I do think if its too wet when the festival opens they will have to reconsider where to let people in, they must have a contingency plan if they know how bad it could be (Hopefully!!) garage flower 1
Unless it rains heavily - I've had the car in the car park on that side before -
DreadlockDan
I definitely prefer to be at the top of a grassy hill in my van than on a flat field so opted for east. I've never had a problem with queues either although I never try to get in particularly early or go back to the van until very late.
loosechange
I went to the Campervan show in Birmingham today, this caught me eye: What odds on getting this out of a muddy field?
grumpyhack
Did you buy it with your loosechange? Edited October 16, 2009 by grumpyhack

garage flower 1
It's clearly popular with the elderly. Maybe Tim Westwood should get one?

Sabcully
Go EAST. The 'Hill of Death' is not really deathly at all and don't forget, Hill = dry feet. Don't want your splitty to drown in mud, do you? I have neve had big problems getting in through PGC and the walk to the Pyramid takes you through excellent Glasto country and took us around 15 - 20 min, so not really that big an issue. 5co77ie
I think I should say that the photo I posted I think is taken much nearer to the site than where I think now the proposed location of the campervan field will be. paulo999
CV West will be west of The Park, at about 45 feet 'up', vs. about 45-60 ft for CV East. There will be a gentle slope across the fields heading north, so standing water shouldn't be an issue. Access will be via Stickleball Lane (an extension of the White Route), which runs directly south from the main road. There'll be a dedicated pedestrian gate through the super fence, and from there The Park is 500m. If I had to choose I'd go with East because it's nearer most things, but one possible bonus for CV West is that they won't be contending with early car park arrivals for initial access. So if their gate isn't too small, they could be in well before everyone else
paddieu
Thanks ! I heard they are not going to allow a tent next to the camervan there [unlike the East site] Anyone know if that's true ? Thanks again

HannahandGary
Can I pitch a tent beside my caravan/campervan? The Fire Officer will not allow ticket-holders to camp beside campervans or cars due to the risk of contiguous fire, but it is permitted to camp behind them. The above is taken from the official Glasto website.
