Getting out late Sunday/early momday

Hi all

until now (11 glasto's) I have never had to rush home, my new job means I am expected in the office Monday . Disaster!

Really long time away I know but it's the first thing I thought of when I bought my tix .

So what I'm asking is do I pack and try to get out in the car around 12 after bands, is it easier then?

Or do I get up super early say 4 or 5am and hope to get out reasonably swiftly. Hmmmmm

Last year I left during Madness and (obviously) breezed out of the car parks, was home in time to watch Blur on TV. Year before got up at 4:30am, packed and in the car for about 5:30 and again breezed out of the car park. On both occasions there were no more than 3 or 4 people driving off site.

Stupid early get up's suck but they work for sure

Yeah fancy the early Monday plan. Leaving after headliners has taken friends about 5hours which doesn't bode well for the office. Luckily I only have to get to Bristol .

I was wondering if it would help being sneaky and moving my car closer to an exit upon packing up Sunday ? If heading out at 5am is pretty easy then maybe I'll leave it be.

This year Noodle and I camped in Paines and where luckilly parked very close to the enterance there.

We saw some Blur then got blown away by the Prodigy (Awsome) :O:):D:D

We got up early... 5ish and packed and left.

Drove straight off the site towards the M5. No problem..

Apart from keeping my eyes open :)

Last year we took everything back to the car on sunday morning, spent the day watching bands and walking round then left just as blur started, could hear them most of the way back to the car so it was alright, got out fine!

We all left after The Progidy finished this year had already packed everything up early Sun Morning and spent the day chilling out and watching some of the other stages until The Progidy finished. Slow walk through Dance area past John Peel tent and up to the Pedestrian exit by Bus drop off, finished packing car with sleepy people then heavens opened and found the exit from that field had turned into a quagmire... traffic flow people then directed everyone to wrong exit !!!!! spent 20 mins trying to explain to them there mistake as there was another exit on to the same road a bit further down !!!!!!. Finally got out at 2am !!! at services on M4 as sun came up home buy 5am. Year before same time out in 5 mins home at 3am

If you are going to leave, make sure you head off before the headliners have finished or you could spend several hours trying to get out of the car park.

This year I left about 20 mins before Blur finished, there was a stream of people heading out then but it only took me about 10-15 mins to get out of the car park (I was in the far corner of W27, and most of that was the traffic lights just before getting onto the road).

Some of my friends left about 20 minutes before me but had to go back to collect their bags from Pennards as they'd been too spangled to take them back to the car in the morning. After sitting in the car hardly moving for over an hour they decided to sleep in the car. They were up at 5am and drove straight out.

I plan to leave early this year=just after the final headliners on the Sunday. It just isnt worth the pain for sitting in traffic for hours-done it too many times. In 2008 we stayed all day just to wait for the build up.

We were back at the car for about 6.30 Monday morning this year and it took about 2 hours to get out of the car park. We nould have been there even longer if a kind bloke hadn't pointed us in the direction of a gate at the far side of the field that took us out onto a little lane.

There were a lot of people at 6ish going back to their cars this year and I we were unlucky I think that we were a long way from the exit so cars were just joining the queue in front of us. I think in those 2 hours we only moved about 20 yards.

Last year we packed up the tent and all our stuff and loaded the car up for the off at 9.30. We left about 11 pm,as neither of us were bothered in watching Blur and to be honest we had seen enough over the four days, plus i had to be back in work to open up at 7am,lucky i only live about 20 miles away. We breezed out with no holdups at all. Same previous year when we left around midnight.
