Slayer confirmed.

Announcement tomorrow or next friday. More likely tomorrow due to Slayer self-confirmation.

Concerning your language problems:

The first list contains bands that will be confirmed for sure according to one user (just guessing, no inside information). The 2nd list contains bands that are not very likely to play RaR but have played the festival several times before so may play 2010 as well. It's all rumours!

Perhaps RaR is pulling out names today, because the next week will be overshadowed by the announcements of Download Festival. And that's likely to happen, bearing in mind that they have AC/DC, Soundgarden, Them Crooked Vultures etc. up theirs sleeves.

I've been a regular visitor to RaR, 2010 would be my 7th pilgrimage and with around 10,000 tickets left and and no inspiring must see headline acts I've found that I'm not in my usual panic in pursuading friends to cough up their reddies and join the crusade in June - I don't think I can be bothered!! Over the years the price has been getting higher and the standard of lineup getting lower and now 150euro just seems too much to simply go and get drunk and watch a few bands I want to see, or rather I'd settle for watching. It seems that since RaR first sold out back in '07 they really haven't been putting the effort in like they have the years before to attract the crowds, obviously they no longer need to attract the crowds, just milk the cash cow. It isn't just the standard of lineup that has got worse, the atmosphere has seems to have gone a bit flat too, regular visitors may have noticed the decrease in vendors inside the festival to years before making it feel more like a wasteland of drunken zombies and the massive building site of the theme park, which I think may have some part to play in all this... basically local news reports that Nurburging GMbh is on the verge of bankruptcy, cash strapped and on the verge of collapse RaR is one of their key money makers, so perhaps over the years Nurburging have been charging MLK a higher fee to vandalise Germany's spiritual home of motorsport and this has resulted in higher prices for ourselves and money saved on not hiring the must see crowd fillers en masse as they did a few years ago.

Sorry for the long post, wasn't intended to be, also don't mean to be so down on an event that I looked forward to each year (well perhaps not for the first week after each RaR :P ), but I'm just wondering why RaR IMHO seems to have got worse and if any others are feeling similar about 2010.

But for the new comers or for those that like the current lineup, RaR would be a great festival to go to, just that for me I'd always be comparing it to how it used to be. Some bands I would like to see again would be Gogol Bordello and Airbourne (best band for me at RaR '08).

Yeah i thought that - i only went in 2008 and it had a good lineup but last years was just embarrasingly bad (Limp Bizkit headlining yet everywhere else they seemed to play 3rd top last year?).....also my main grumble with RaR was the main stage - was too narrow so you always seemed to be a fair distance back watching the bands, and there were too many baracades guarded by security. Download this year i think!

Tickets ordered, going with a few internationals (USA, I) from Amsterdam as well as northern Germans, just like every year. We don't know where we'll camp yet, but we'll have a big partytent against the wind and the rain again, so anybody who wants to be part of a bigger group is very welcome.
