from the land downunder
Just wondering with the lockups, how much stuff can you/is advised to put in them? I am coming from Australia you see and I am traveling around Europe for six months and kicking off the trip with Glasto, so I will have a lot of stuff, including passport and other such important items. So if anyone could give me the low down on the lock ups that would be swell!
jameshunt
You can put pretty much anything in the lockups. They are large tents with racking and 24 hour staff. There is a ticket system to identify your stuff, plus a book entry describing it with some of your personal information to cope with the occasional lost ticket situation (the punter losing their ticket). They pride themselves on having handled tens of thousands of items over the years without ever losing one. They are run by charities and are free, but do welcome donations. If you have your passport with you then the lockups are the only truly safe place to keep them on site. I happily left very expensive equipment with them last year, multiple times. edit: typo Edited October 7, 2009 by jameshunt
paulo999
One thing to add: Most close around midday Monday, so I'd recommend getting your stuff out by 11am. (After that it normally consolidates to Pyramid Lock Up, and then up to the farm a few hours later).
