Trailer Tent

We were lucky enough to get three tickets for Glastonbury, and i am considering buying a cheap trailer tent just for next years festival, as i don't think at my age i could stand another year of cramped camping ,peope tripping over the guy ropes ect. if i was to get a trailer tent, do you pitch it in the caravan or motor home section, As it would be myself and my daughter with her partner would we be allowed to pitch a normal tent as well, and how long a trek is it from were ever we pitch to say the Pyramid stage, just to give me an idea on distance. Also is do you buy one caraven / trailer tent ticket and two ordinary tickets

Yes - campervan fields are for campervans, motorhomes, caravans and trailer tents. Not sure if caravans have their own field within the campervan area as I don't recall seeing any in our campervan field, but other than that treated the same.

You can usually pitch a tent or so behind your campervan, this would probably apply to trailer tents although there is the issue of parking your car in the same spot as well.

The trek is 10-30 minutes to Pedestrian Gate C - depending on which campervan field you end up in. It's another 10 mins or so to the Pyramid stage depending on crowd numbers down the main drag.

Not sure about the new West side campervan fields as they haven't had those before even though they had planned them for last year. You might be nearer to the pedestrian gate over there, but the extra trek to the Pyramid would negate that.

re: tickets. Yes - for one trailer tent you'd need one campervan pass. Of course you all need your festival tickets as well which you already have.

I'll be taking a trailer tent for the first time. It has quite a big awning (living and cooking area), which will take up most of the pitch. We'll have to park our car as well so how much space will there be left for a tent - or how big a tent can we put up as well - as we have a group of six and we'd all like to be together.

We took a trailer tent last year and pitched up with mates who also had trailer tents with awnings, camper vans and small tents all around us. It can be quite a walk in an out every day and having to show tickets on entry and exit but I have to say it was great to sleep in a comfy bed everynight. Having done many years normal camping I now have resorted to the comfy option and love it  its also fantastic when you leave on the Monday cos you don't have a hike to the car.
