Leaving things in your car

Hello

I've never been to Glasto before and at the ripe old age of 36 (actually I'll be 37 by then) I'm going for the first time. I've been reading the forums avidly - I think I'm becoming obsessed - I am soooo excited!!

My question is about keeping things - I'm thinking alcohol - in the car. If we kept it hidden do you think it would be ok?

Also, if we want to pop out of the site for food - I'm thinking alcohol - is that easy to do? I'm not looking for a Tesco Express but maybe some local shops where we can get bits and pieces. How practical is it to do this?

Thanks in advance!

I tend to leave a bag of stuff in the boot of the car, normally some orange juice, maybe a bit more vodka - decanted into a water bottle natch - things like that, and go back to the motor on Saturday as supplies are running low, and take back some of the stuff we no longer need or have accumulated in previous days.

Absolutely, always take back any spare clothing I've realised i'm not going to need, wellies if it's nice and anything else that's surplus - never go back to car empty handed when you might have to carry it on monday morning....

Leave anything and eveything in the FREE lockups including as much booze as you can carry. They are all over the site including by Pedestrian gates A and C large white marquees so quite cool and your beer won't get too warm and saves you traipsing back and forth to the car. Loads of regulars leave booze by the tray/box and we have never drank any of it!

Also leave all your valuables there and avoid stress of tent thieves. They are completely FREE

We were utter geeks we were so organised last time.

A day sack with keys extra cash and vodka went into the lock-up, another stash of cash in a hollow bit of the car (lots of those!) and I separated clothing into two packs and took the first dirty lot back to the car on Saturday morning and swopped for clean stuff. As well as taking back stuff I realised I had been stupid to take in the first place!

I also had a spare tent, airbed, sleeping bag and coat in the boot! And also a spare car key hidden using a helpful magnet.

But the best thing was leaving a stash of food in the car, ready for the long wait to get out!
