i'm not the massive U2 fanboy that a lot of people here seem to be, and i'm sure that more than half of the people watching them at Glasto won't be either, so i do hope they play a more hits-oriented set

not saying they should play 'every single that's gotten into the top 10' kind of thing, but maybe less NLOTH tracks, and maybe add Pride (In The Name Of Love), I Will Follow, Bad etc - the tracks everybody wants back and that should never have really left the setlists in the first place (though obviously they have to accomidate for the new album and some songs just have to be cut)

i've listened to NLOTH a few times over the past few days and i just couldn't get into it that much. it just doesn't have the 'epicness' of a lot of U2's previous works

obviously it's their latest album and they're less bored of it than all the songs they've been playing for 20+ years, but at a festival i think bands should always do a 'hits' set as they should be trying to win people over

i'd love to come away from their set at Glasto and want to listen to all their albums because i was so blown away

i know they haven't been played live for a while - i meant 'overplayed' as in on the radio etc

never seen U2 live before so obviously With Or Without You etc are some of the big pulls for me though i can understand why a U2 fan would be sick to death of them

i doubt they'll do anything overly-special - as somebody said, it's one show in the middle of a huge American tour so to rehearse an entirely different setlist would be weird

here's hoping for maybe just one or two not-usually-played songs though

it's a routine now...i wake up in the AM (US time) and see what Wooderson has added to the U2 thread. He's officially the Jens Wildman of this year's big headline act's EFest's thread, even after he (Woods that is) ripped Jens after his first few pages of posts last time around

Spin's list obviously has a bit of a US slant to it, just as Q will have a few British acts that couldn't Joe's Bar in the US, but still a good list.

"most influential"...perhaps they define that somewhere, which perhaps would give their explanation as to why Joshua Tree, released in '87 is not in their top 45 (i stopped checking after that).

18 of 25. impressive!

Tugger with 25! even more impressive!

Reading in Q about the U2 360 DVD that is coming out and their gig director says that there will be no "claw" at Glasto but they will "launch the pig" at some point during the show. What is this referring to, did they incorporate a pink floyd style pig during the 360 tour or what?
