chris_gumfa
Sorry if this has been asked before. Me and my friend are going to Glasto for the first time (good one to pick i hope) and are thinking of travelling down tuesday night, get in when gates open next day and nab a good camping spot. What I'm wondering is will there be much on wednesday and thursday? Im thinking smaller music acts, bars food places? Thanks in advance. Just got to wait months and months now! Countdown has started

Kyelo
Most of the food stalls, bars and stuff should be open. Don't think there is any offiicial entertainment on Wednesday although if you walk around you'll find djs/bands and the likes. Always plenty on! grumpyhack
Glasto is almost two festivals - the days before the bands when there's loads to do and see and eat and then almost a separate fest when the music starts. The days before the music are well worth it. Make the most of them but be prepared to do a lot of walking.

r0cky
It's really nice the two-festival aspect to Glastonbury. By the Thursday night I've got used to the hanging out with mates, beers, and general fun; then the fantastic music starts and everything kicks off! Although Sunday night always comes *so* fast! I've arrived Thursday AM v.early before, no queues and you can always find some corner to camp-in. At the end of the day, Glastonbury is a huge site, there is no perfect camping spot; and you're only sleeping there. Even then, I've often ended up sleeping in other people's tents. kaisherz
We always get there as early as possible on the Wednesday. You can camp wherever you want, with in reach of whatever you want. your idea of gettin there for early wednesday is a good one, theres sooo much going on. youll have some time to go around the site, see everything (nearly) and get mega wasted! You wont regret it, and youll deifnately be hooked!
westwardhoboy
You won't find any bands on Wednesday. A few bars are open and most of the food & shopping stalls. Excellent chance to take everything in. Thursday all the bars open, but none of the stages. there are a few small places to catch some music. Dont think that the organisers will do the same as last year. Maximo Park opened the festival around 4PM on Thurs at the Queens head stage. Now that is about as big as a marquee found at your local village fate. Now Maximo Park aren't the biggest band in the world, but they were the biggest (and only) band on at that time. So Around 100,000 people who were already there decided to go and watch. Luckily I had a nice early space and could see most of what went on. But the stewards had to fence of the approach routes as there were so many people there!! There are a few places to catch some bands, I recommend Dirty Boots, behind the Pyramid stage.
