A couple camping questions

JT...you are winding yourself up over nothing my dear!

First of all its fecking months til the fest. SERIOUSLY, wait a while, keep watching the boards and as the fervour starts to pick up pace get involved with that lot.

There is always an epic camp of Efesters that head to Pennards Field. The camp has a central area where people congregate and chill out be it a set of gazebos, a tipi, a camp fire area. There are folks who have cooking equipment and blagging a coffee off someone is NO issue. You may even find a spare room to bed down in. The testimonials from overseas first-timers from this year attest to the friendliness and openness of the group. (eg Dorgon and Ajx from the US and Oz who both came over solo and intentionally for the fest and WILL be returning next year too)

You have months to make friends on here. Oh and the water...why would 150,000 people go to the effort of boiling it up to make it drinkable? Its PERFECTLY safe. The fest would not go ahead if it wasnt!

If luggage is an issue just make sure you have something sorted for arrival be it a spare space in an uber tent or spending out £50-100 on a camping kit to pick up.

If you are interested in seeing more of the country and getting to know people before the fest there will be a pre-Glasto meet up at Avebury for Solstice too. Great way of breaking the ice and you get to spend extra time in Glasto excitement build up.

Very great stuff!

I like the looks of the suggested cooker to give me a light weight option to have along without spending a bunch of money. I'm not a coffee drinker, but boiling some water may be necessary sometimes.

I've read about the water spigots...it that all drinkable, or does it need boiling? Is bottled water available, or is there some sort of refillable bottle plan? I've been on a weight-loss and workout program, because of that I drink 2 to 3 liters of water a day. So, I go through a lot of plain water in a week.

I've never been that fond of them either, the product ranges they stock are bizarre and very sub-standard in my opinion. I much prefer to use Cotswold Outdoor and Snow&Rock, my last minute emergencies tend to be from Oswald Bailey. My hopes expressed before about Millets, was just from the point of view of their stalls at Glasto - can't have too much competition for onsite prices. Who will supply all the wellies in the wet weather if Millets isn't there?

Can somebody explain to me why you can only buy Quechua in certain shops? Surely they are missing a ticket by not selling online(except ebay)? I'm no expert on business but know for a fact Quecha have a great reputation and would make a killing by selling online.
