Surely Clutch, Down and Black Label Society will stick around and play Sonisphere the following week too? I hopr to f**k they do. Saw the first two at Download last year and both were quality and BLS Ive never seen but love them

When this event becomes more widely advertised in the press it's going to attract a LOT of people in the thirty plus bracket. It's great value for money.

Seems a lot to me for a London in-a-park type event - Wireless is £47.50, Lovebox £49.50

i agree,pearl jam in hyde park is only £47.50 and they are a top top crowd puller.a fair percentage of the bands on the high voltage bill you can see in 400 capacity venues most weeks.

Being 17, I cant see myself being able to afford this.. but if it was camping rather than a london fest., id definately pay £135

hopefully it stays alive and they get some equally as good names next year, perhaps then id consider it (King Crimson, Yes, Genesis etc)

Yes, thats a good point of course because if you dont live within striking distance of London... accomadation costs will rocket up your weekend spend. PLus the lash water will be extortionate I suppose.

I can't understand why more people aren't posting about this festival. This is the best line-up of bands I can think of since the classic Knebworth shows of the 70's. My only gripe so far is that there's not even a whiff (so far) of dance or world music on display, but maybe that's a bit too much to ask from Classic Rock who have clearly identified a market of ageing rockers (like me) to whom this is absolute manna from Heaven (or should that be Hell). If I was asked to curate a festival it would look a lot like this with the addition of a cross genre dance stage loaded with psytrance, progressive and dub acts - certainly some reggae. Anyway, I urge you to make a headband from the dog's collar if you have to and let your freak flag fly. This will be the best weekend of 2010.

Not all of us young folk have bad taste. This festival is shaping up to be pretty good. Would particularly like to see ELP, Heaven & Hell, Down, Clutch, Venom, Zappa Plays Zappa and Bachman & Turner.
