not set in stone, but apparently Kings Of Leon are playing a 200 person intimate gig at a secret location somewhere in Inverness in April or May. I know someone who has a ticket to it. So there is a big possibility.

Now if it was an intimate 20000 gig, then it could be Rock4Life especially if the new press release is to believed:

Sunday 2nd May brings the first Highland public performance of the new Sugababes line up, the fantastic McFly and watch out for one more huge name which will be announced soon

but really Kings of Leon would blow away any of the pre-announced acts

Okay This sounds far too good to be true. There is no indication of this being truth, surely somebody who had tickets would have tried selling them on ebay (There would be a massive market), I would have also expected one of the media round hear to not be able to keep their mouths shut thats not happend either. One final issue, unless they are playing the raigmore motel, there is no live music venue that would comfortably have 200 folk (they are not plying raigmore motel!!).

It's not gonna happen... much though I would like it!!!

But pengers if you are tellling the truth a venue, date or a picture of the ticket would not go a miss!!!

  • 2 weeks later...
The Rock4Life sunday event has apparently been cancelled due to low ticket sales, it's a one day event now.

Seems like it must be true as there is no mention of the Sunday ever having existed on the website anymore.

I think organisers of these events need to realise that just because its a "festival" and its in the Highlands it doesn't mean it will automatically be successful. Yes there are very successful festivals that go on in the Highlands but it is because they are good quality.

I'm a McFly fan and I'm disappointed obviously but the ticket prices were not value for money. As much as I hate to say it the majority of Scottish McFly fans will be in school or uni and have exams at the start of May. (most of McFly's tours are Oct/Nov or middle of the summer shows) And the Sugababes are completely pish now.

I don't think having it outside Nairn is the issue, that seemed to be the point that it was a festival for people from the Highlands. Just a shame no one actually was bothered about it.

It's been really poorly organised and they took the piss with announcing it was cancelled less than three weeks before it was due to go ahead.
