ljsawyer
From the EOTR Facebook page: 'Dont forget tomorrow, 24 bands being announced!' Can we make it tomorrow please?
shoebox
I am fully expecting to let a little whoop of excitement out in the office and get sent home on grounds of insanity. Can't wait! 24 bands!
geofelgie
I know, 24 bands.........the official start of the year, unreasonably excited But then imagine if I don't like any of them? Hmmmmmm........more likely to like all of them!

shoebox
Whoa! Especially pleased with The Antlers, but yeah, don't know a great deal about most of them. Should be an interesting few months checking them all out. Very excited!
langerabend
oh yes, and I am already discovering SNOWMAN. wild! pretty noisy, and the overall feeling (ANTLERS, BLACK MOUNTAIN) it seems a little bit more diverse this year, already. (first impression...) the announcement today does show though, that the whole twitterlist was a complete dead end. ;-) Edited January 19, 2010 by langerabend
shoebox
Ha! The Twitterlist is still alive! None of these are Garden Stage headliners. I'm standing by my science!
langerabend
well good luck with your cause! I am the first to buy you a drink if billy bragg, dinosaur and the decemberists are actually playing. promise!
5co77ie
Loving the fact that Ruby Suns, Papercuts, The Unthanks(hopes it's quiet) and Dengue Fever have been announced. There's news on eFestivals about it here: http://www.efestivals.co.uk/news/10/100119a.shtml
shoebox
I'm going to have to try that Ruby Suns album again. I've given it several attempts but it's never really won me over. A lot of people who's tastes I generally agree with love it as well.
sadwitch
I know a lot less about this list than I did about last year's list so I am less excited but I'm sure it'll fine.

langerabend
I think it's even better than what we had after a couple of announcements last year. There's more diversity, that's for sure.
sadwitch
Yeah I know. I was just saying I was previously more excited as it was tailored to my exact musical tastes right from the off
wockey
Could not believe my eyes when I saw the Felice Brothers in the list. Ian Felice has a voice to die for and 3 fantastic albums to their name. I am happy !! Maybe Simone (Duke and the King) will join his brothers for a special reunion. check this for a taster. Cauchy
Jessica Lea Mayfield but no Avett Brothers? And while it's cool to see the Felice Brothers on there (not to pick on them, just sort of similar bands, hell, they're even both family bands haha), it's just a bummer not to see the Avetts. One of my favorites. Also, again running off the Jessica Lea Mayfield tangent, The Black Keys would really throw some noise into the mix. Hell of a live act to boot. Even so, that's a ridiculously good line up. Edited January 24, 2010 by Cauchy

wockey
Simone never left did he? I thought The Duke & The King was/is just a side project.
MattL80
I read a report last year saying that he was not happy just being the drummer and backing singer and that he needed a change of direction following the loss of his wife/partners unborn child. He played on yonder is the clock but he is not on the latest web site pics. Simone is an author of a couple of well liked books and ,I believe,he has lectured on the college circuit. Obviously a man with a few strings to his bow. I also read that he'd be happy to join up with his brothers occasionally, hence my hopes. I'm gonna have to find out where I read these reports aren't I !!!
Dibford and Son
Haven't posted for a while due to lack of anything interesting to add, however having gone into a bit of a spotify frenzy since last week, I thought it was time to say that I am loving The Antlers( How good is Hospice??) Megafaun( Why have they been removed?) and Elliott Brood( Can't wait to see them live). Thats about all i've got round to as I keep repeating their albums. The Felice Brothers is also a top result. This is only going to get better! D & S

shoebox
The best discovery for me, in the short space of time I've had to delve into these acts, is Black Mountain. Great stuff from them. Should wake a few of the folkies up!
