If there's a quantifiable event in my lifetime that would signify to me that the human race isn't completely f**ked, it'll be the day everyone on the planet tells Valentines Day to f**k off.

I liked Valentine's Day last year, me & the girl I was going out with at the time went to Chinatown in Soho and celebrated the Chinese New Year instead.

I duno what everyone has against valentines day scoffing that it's about consumerism and stuff.

I like it!

And it's nice to have a day for it, yeah you can show your man every day that you love him, but valentines is just nice

If i had a man, i'd spoil him on valentines and have a nice take away or a nice meal in or something!

Just like last year I probably won't even see my bloke on valentines day since I'll be at work all day and then I go swimming on Monday evenings.

It's just another day to us, apart from being the 'anniversary' of my horses death.

last years valentines was swell. got up at 6am to get a 5 hour bus to inverness. watched half of hibs vs rangers in the pub. got ignored on the door stop of my ex for half an hour. then got a 4 hour bus back to edinburgh to see vampire weekend

I guess if you're single, then valentines day may just seem like a shop keepers dream

or maybe thats just if you're cynical / old and bitter

We're not romantic the rest of the year, so I can't see us getting all romantic on a particular day because we've been told to by advertisers.

We are old and cynical now though.

I went into Asda today and saw LOADS of roses, cards, sexy underwear and I must say a tiny bit of sick came up. It was abit much. I like the day itself but the advertising for it are very cheesy indeed
