How strict?....

Hi folks, the time is getting closer and i'm starting to get a few supplies ready... :P

Anyways, a few things i need to clear up...

How strict is the rule on No sleeping in the awning attatched to a camper?

And would they be a bit funny if i was to put my large tent on the side of the van and tie it over the top of my van, like in pic below...

It says only specific awnings to be used, how strict is this?...

And do you think the tent would be too big to put up behind my van, what do you think?..

I just need to clear these little things up so i'm not farting about like 2 days before the festival... :P

Heres a pic, will they be funny with this? if i won't get away with putting it on my van, what you reckon about putting this beast up behind my van instead?....

I know it goes by length but do ya see big tents like this in the cv fields?...

I'll have to measure it i guess... but anyway, your thoughts/experiences on this would be great

To be honest, it looks a bit too big. The space between the vans will take a normal awning, but not a tent that size. Likewise, there's space behind the van for a 2-3 person dome tent, but not omne of this size. They are strict enough because it's fire/emergency access that you are blocking. I've seen them ask people to take down tents that are too big...

The only suggestion I could make if you are def taking it , is to somehow blag yourself a pitch

near the edge of a field and be a bit creative with your parking !

Good Luck Mate !

:P

Thanks for the replies guy's.. even if it was more about the size of my "Roadshow" stage setup..:P

Hmmm... i thought i might of been be ok,... maybe not then,,,:P... right, i think i'm going to measure it up and try see how far off the allowed size i am on this...

I'm sure i'm not far off the 6m (or whatever it is)...i'm taking every inch of my allocated pitch tho, if it says i'm allowed 6 metres, i want 6 meters........ :P

If i take an extra pole out the tent it will pull closer to the van and be almost a meter shorter again by doing that it should be under 6metres (i think)...

Are they strict on putting the 'specific' awning rule?...

Cheers folks...

We've got a trailer tent that we'll be taking for the first time that has quite a big awning that serves as an additional sleeping and cooking area. Were also going to put up a tent behind for our mates. Do you reckon that will be acceptable?
