blackg1000
I've not heard from Rockness about this yet. I doubt I'll go now, this has peed me off no end. Luckily I took out the insurance, so will probably just cash that in.
irons
You've not heard from Rockness about what? Have you paid for tickets and not got them yet?
rexclark
Nah. I got student tix, but they weren't advertised as such. I need student ID, problem is am not a student. Waited to hear about it from Jim King/Rockness, never heard a word even thou it was supposed to be sorted,

Paul ™
Pretty certain on ticketmaster it say "Student Ambassador Code" and always has done.
Poleski
I think you will find you are wrong, as confirmed by Jim King as they had to get the wording changed on Ticketmasters site Edited March 28, 2010 by Poleski

Poleski
Make your mind up. Whatever it said before, it did not make it clear who could purchase the tickets, and since some lazy tax dodging students couldn't be bothered to make it clear on here and on other websites, this whole situation arose. So your response to Irons is irrelevant, as it was plainly not clear initially.
Paul ™
Clearly when the word Student is involved some alarm bells should of started ringing. I know at the beginning questions weren't answered as well as they should have been so perhaps holding out buying a ticket until the information was a little clearer may have been a good idea? Paul ™
Well I think that's your axe to grind buddy, if you don't have student ID, nor are you a student then maybe it wasn't wise trying to get 'student' tickets and as far as I know they were advertised as such also you had to use the code. That aside, you should probably still get your tickets through and go anyway. I think there's quite alot of people in the same boat as you and are going to go to the festival and try to get in. I doubt the security will turn away what seems to be quite a few in the same situation. Post it on the Q&A for Jim just to be sure.
Poleski
You're not wrong their, seems Students couldn't organise a piss up in a field Why should people hold off and miss out buying them at a more expensive option when there was codes being handed out all over the place, and nothing to indicate that only students could buy/use them? I fail to see why you are trying to defend the error made by Loudsound here, it's blatantly obvious they cocked up by letting you lot run this thing un-supervised... as they have acknowledged the confusion, updated the vendors website, put an article on the official website, emailed all the student ambassadors to correct their mistakes and offered to put it right, despite not actually having done so yet. Paul ™
I'm not defending it. You lot seem to make it out as if it was a bunch of codes with no link to "student" what so ever. I know at the start some folk didn't bother advertising it as students, pretty sure some folk are still trying to make sales by not advertising it as student tickets. Other student ambassadors (like me, furry haggis, scottishalternativemusic and Student Ambassador Tickets) clearly stated the codes were for student etc. If I was a customer in that position I would have asked questions before buying. Why should someone have to hurry to buy a ticket to a festival that doesn't sell out?
Poleski
And the bit in bold just goes to show that it should never have been put in students hands.. here's hoping that lessons have been learned for 2011

rachbon
i don't see why any non students had to buy the student tickets, when there were cheap early birds on the go.

Poleski
Are you the same Poleski that has left a shout of "Mind you can get student tickets. £10 OFF TICKET PRICE, FREE TRAVEL TO AND FROM THE FESTIVAL. Use the code: 67R4R3 when buying from ticketmaster for this deal " on the Last.fm event page? As you might want to point out they'll need student ID? smutchie
Edit because I never read irons post in full (lazy student). Offer still stands. Wouldn't want you to miss it mate because of a balls up. Paul leave out the tax dodging jibes your smarter than that mate. A wind up is always good, but its outdated. Still agree with you though, it wasn't nailed down and therefore open to confusion at the start.
