Katster
We were asked (nicely) by the security staff on our way in to switch ours off because we were interfering with their signal. They were great fun for on the way down there though (obviously held and operated by the passengers not the drivers). One poor lad didn't have one and was driving on his own. I kept giving shout outs to 'Ryan in the Cheap Seats'

Laura_Babs
Took them in 2005 and 2007 - great fun listening to other peoples conversations and having a chat with randoms!
PabloCoke
absolutely useless, unless you've got a really fancy pair don't bother with them. you would need an almost military spec set to be usefull, mobile phone far cheaper. waste of money. G1T
I've used one as part of my job there for the last couple of years, and they can be handy, but there are loads of dead spots around the site where you just can't use them, even the official festival ones. We often resort to mobile phones at such times anyway. The official ones are fun though, we have our own channel, but i sometimes switch over to the other channels for a quick listen. The security channel on the wednesday morning as people are coming in is awesome, people being chased around the perimeter, all sorts. Phil-itfc
Its the best thing going as you hear some very bizarre calls - one year at Reading there was two Security guys who thought they were standing at the same metal wall { either side of it } so one was asking the other to knock on the wall - he was banging away but the other could not hear him { even although he was making a right racket } - this went on for a good hour and surprise surprise one was standing in what used to be the security dog compound { near the guest tent } and the other was on the opposite side of the arena . The Security supervisors were going nuts. If you want to pick up ticket holders then you will hear a lot
Cooter
You'd have to have some very expensive ones to trasmit a two way conversation. I have more fun with a scanner which picks up all manner of amusing goings on from all the different official groups
