I'm gonna try to make it to hurricane for the first time this year to Hurricane, we're flying from Malta to Hamburg and then thinking of spending a couple of days in Amsterdam after the festival.

Anyone knows the best way to get to Amsterdam after the festival ?

Hitch hiking is possible and relatively save on that route, but you'd have to take a shower before. Otherwise just by train, check wee.db.de and www.hispeed.nl for cheap tickets.

actually did that last year, what we did was to get from festival site to hamburg and then trained it to amsterdam centraal. we didn't book anything in advance - jsut rocked up to the station and went from there. it was really easy to do, but don't know if it was the cheapest option. i think we looked into coaches as well - but for the hassle of that versus a train we opted for train.

hope this helps - is a wkd festival.

Also any advice on cheapest and quickest way to get there from Luxembourg, apart from driving.

Any advice appreciated.

i can recommend the southside festival, as the atmosphere there is really chilled. was there many times, really like it :P

a way to get there fast is flying to zürich/switzerland and then by train from zurich to tuttlingen without changing the train in 1h 20min. does cost one-way 23.7euro. from tuttlingen there a free buses to the festival ground.

A few options:

- if you book in advance there usually is a limited contingent of cheap tickets. Likely to be sold out for the days around the festival, however.

- you can, while buying a ticket, use the option 'only local transport', that brings the one-way trip down to 41€

- while using the same connection (you are not allowed to board any intercity or intercity express trains, but Regionalexpress is okay), you can use a Länderticket. You'll need one for every Bundesland (=state/province) you enter, so that would be Bavaria and Baden-Würthemberg. You don't have to buy those online, but just at the vending machines and ticket offices in the respective Bundesland. Look [url=http://www.bahn.de/i/view/GBR/en/prices/germany/laender-ticket.shtml]here[/ulr]. They come at 28€ for a group of up to 5 people, Bavaria also sells a ticket for 20€ for singel persons. So unless you are travelling on your own those would be cheaper. If you have say 3 people it would make sebnse to try to find some germans who are also travelling from Munich to Southside at Munich HBF (=central station) to split the costs.

Just bought the tickets for this one, well looking forward to it. I never been to German festival before so I don't know exactly what to expect. Will they show the World Cup matches at the festival ?

Do you usually do an efests meet at hurricane ?

You'll regret not getting there on Thursday thoroughly if you go throiugh with the plan like that (even though Hamburg is worth every minute you stay there).

And feel free to camp with us, a lot of Germans and a few internationals from Amsterdam, of course.

Hi Guys I know similar questions have been asked but my friends and I are looking to go to Hurricane, we've all been to loads of UK festivals but none of us are fluent speaking Deutsch!

Are we going to get on alright here? We know enough to make it from the airport to the train station and stuff but couldn't hold a conversation!

Where does this idea come from that the rest of the world is as bad with foreign langauges as you? Out of the big European countries Germans know the most foreign languages, esp. English.. Sweden, NL, ... beat us, of course. Nevertheless, you'll be just fine. Beer helps for comunication, as well.
