Gettin to the front of the pyramid?

Im a big muse fan, have been for years, and I want to get all my home boys to the front for Muse on the saturday.

Ive never really bothered getting really close before, we always get somewhere near the middle just near the sound/light deck thing.

But whats the score with gettin inside the gate thing at the front? and how long would you have to get there for beforehand?

Im assuming its best to get there a couple of acts before and slowly work your way forwards. We might be a bunch of young lads, but we wont go pushing through people and stuff.

Best get there two or three acts before and work your way to the front when people leave between acts to get drinks/food/have a piss etc. Approaching from the side is often best imo.

And try not to trip up over the hundreds of chairs that will be everywhere cos it would seem noone puts them away while the bands are playing!

It depends on who's on before Muse too.

Tom Jones was on before Madness last year. I was miles away from Tom Jones but as soon as his set finished i sliced through that crowd like a knife through butter and ended up in the front section for Madness.

getting to the front of the pyramid is easy, thanks to the barrier

Easy, get to the left or right of the Pyramid Stage 2 songs before the end of the act on before, as soon as they finish, walk in! Did it for Bruce and Neiler last year. And The Prodigy on the Other Stage. Had to stand there for 4 songs of Glasvegas too first! Painful.

haha me too. once i've broken the seal i'm doomed to the boundary of a crowd forever more.

Don't even get me started on the "wake up after one hours sleep at 7am and need a piss" piss. That one is deadly. This year I'm packing a large lucosade bottle or a squashed 4pt milk carton, for such emergencies.

An empty fabric conditioner bottle is the answer for back at the tent as it has a wide neck! Tesco's own make is a massive 4 litres!

My first year (2008) i went i was massive on Kings of Leon, so went to The Fratilles who were on beforehand to get to the front. We did get a good spec (standing through that rubbish surrounded by hyper 14 year old boys who kept shouting "PLAY CHELSEA DAGGER!!" wasn't worth it though). Got right to the front for Blur last year straight after those old fellas went off (Nick Cave?) and had a great spot.

Overall in a very poorly written way i'm trying to say for a nimble, skinny chap i found it very easy to get to the front, my tip is spend as little time at that stage as possible.
