This festival is happening the same weekend as Download.

Anyone think we'll get any bands from them?

Wednesday 9/6:

U.D.O - Alestorm - The Quireboys - Sator - Michael Monroe - FKÜ - Steelwing

Thursday 10/6:

Aerosmith - Slayer - Danzig - Nazareth - Mothers Finest

Jorn - Y&T - Dundertåget - Stone Sour - Ratt - Pendragon - BigElf - Blackberry Smoke - Death Angel - Mayhem

Friday 11/6:

Gary Moore - Billy Idol - Cinderella - Rick Springfield - Mastodon

Magnum - D:A:D - Steel Panther - Behemoth - MSG - Grave Digger - Suicidal Tendencies - Chicken Shack

Saturday 12/6:

Guns´N Roses - W.A.S.P. - Bachman & Turner - Opeth - Saga - Watain - Anvil - Raven - Stratovarius - Unisonic - Point Blank - Winger - Fates Warning

We've already got a few, figured theres as much chance as any at nailing a few more.

Where is that taking place?

Slayer are a Sonisphere exclusive, apparently, btw.

Behemoth could play low down the bill, but I they're doing Bloodstock this year so I'm not sure if they'll be allowed to do Download too.

Mastodon would be class, even if they're kind of wasted on a big stage. I spoke to Troy after their Nottingham gig in March and he wasn't sure about Download. Kind of sounded like they'd had an offer but probably weren't going to play. :P

Behemoth aren't a Bloodstock exclusive, I think. However I'm sure I've read somewhere (possibly the Damnation Festival forums), that they asked to play and were turned away. If that's true, then what the hell is Copping playing at? They've been one of the breakthrough bands in the metal scene in the past year and he'd be an idiot to turn them away. They could put on at least a decent sub-headline third stage performance. On top of that, 'Evangelion' was one of the best albums of last year. Without a doubt. I reckon they could get a decent crowd.

In any event, even though they're playing Sweden Rock, I've got a sinking feeling about their chances of playing Download this year, the same one I had in 2008 when Ministry could've easily played, given the gap in their schedule (correct me if I'm wrong) - but appeared to be overlooked for some of the other tosh they put on that year.

I got the Rise to Remain EP and it seems pretty good, it's quite odd as it's like metalcore with normalish vocals, impression first 4 songs for a new bands though. Obviously wouldn't be on the bill if the singers dad wasn't in Iron Maiden though lol. Still I'll be checking them out :P, albeit the Saturday seems albsolute tripe for me until Deftones anyway...
