There are many differences between Reading and Download. Reading has the campsite on the doorstep of the arena and there is a carpark next to the campsite too. At Download, the Carpark is 15 minutes walk from the arena and a further 15 minutes walk to the campsite!!

Costs will be basically the same. Food, Drink, Merchandise etc.

You are not allowed fires at Download. You can't take gas into the campsite unless you are in RIP.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head!!

Thanks, that walk from the car park to the campsite sounds... annoying. Are drink prices like... super expensive around the campsite? I mean er, am I better off taking my booze from home in the car or is there somewhere closer and reasonably priced so I don't have to carry it with my other stuff.

Sounds like we're better suited to doing two trips, w'hey.

Piggybacking on to the thread, this is my first Download too. Got 3 day camping. If I arrive 1st thing Fri morning will the campsites be jam packed full? Like they are at T. Any tips on the best place to camp. I don't mind the hike.

Anyone done the campervan thing? How does that compare to the campsite apart from not having to carry you beer for miles!

Most festivals have banned Gas cannisters now anyways. But Trangia stoves are still allowed, and so much better than solid shitty hexifuel ones.

Download pretty much owns Reading. After going to Reading and Download almost every year since 03 i can honestly say Download is so much better ran than Reading, and you don't get the pre-pubescent teenagers as much at Download.

I've used hexamine stoves in the past and I find them okay, though the last time at Glastonbury they were terrible for some reason.

This'll be my first Download, kinda wish I had gone for it years ago.
