malfy
Sorry should have put this in chat !! Love reading other peoples experiences/memories of glasto and with so many desperate for tickets (can really empathise with you, luckily have ours for this year) thought i'd share a (traumatic) memory... Was 2004 and decided this was the year was going to glasto (Always watched on TV and was always my dream to go so circumstances dictated that this year was the one) So there we were, the first year tickets were on sale online, me, wife to be and relations were trying to connect via internet and had 3 phones on constant redial,(anyone remember the controversy, crashing, etc) tried in vain until early hours and next day, until sold out. Yes we were dejected but end of story..no! Was at work a short time before festival (at time worked for telecommunicatons company who is one of the sponsors) and there was a notice, saying two tickets, in special camping area (for staff and partner) are to be given away, there was hundreds working in building but was still a chance. So next thing i know, here comes events organiser up to my mate on same team, and tells him his name has been picked out, he wasnt interested (strangely, some people are not) but asked if i could have them (as i was giving him a lift at time so knew about ticket day that year and how desperate wanted to go) but was told no as had to be picked out by person who went. I tried to plead my case but fell on deaf ears, she (to put it politely) picked another name out and just to rub salt in wound was another person from my team, again he wasnt interested but hearing what had just happened asked if i could have them, again was told no and off she trotted..heard happened again a few times before someone accepted tickets. Determined to go to a festival went to Larmer tree in Wilthsire that year and had a great time (got married there in 2007) Did get tickets in 2005/2008 had fantastic time and cant wait to go this year Edited February 27, 2010 by malfy
