Best Place

Early? My dear...this question has been asked since the tix came out in October :P

It's wherever you see fit and where your preferences to be near are.

A lot of folk will say Pennards cos of its near perfect location for getting to places and access to the the southern part of the site others will say Big Ground because of the Pyramid view.

Threads galore within these pages all have the answers and there will be plenty more in the run up to the fest. I think there are a couple nearby within a page or two of the front page of Questions with a similar title at the moment (but i may be muddled with Chat).

  • 3 weeks later...

I'm going with my mum and siblings [youngest of whom is 15] and we weren't going to camp originally but it's looking more and more likely.

Where would be a good place to camp if we wanted to be close enough to be able to nip back quick enough if necessary but safe and quiet enough to get a decent amount of sleep.

We'll be arriving at about 4 or 5pm Wednesday [hoping there's little traffic]

We look to be spending a good amount of time at the Park, Other, John Peel, Pyramid, Avalon and Acoustic stages if that helps.

We've the Travel lodge in Glastonbury village booked for 5 nights because we weren't sure what we wanted to do.

Well, I want to camp but there are other factors to consider.

Don't think I'd have the energy to stay up past 3 days! :P

AH here now. Calm down.

There are a few health issues with my mother and brother I'd rather not divulge. It wasn't my choice. But there is a chance we could overcome those issues.

I came here looking for a bit of advice, mate.

Not to be laughed at.

Family camping! Are you serious!?

Ah thanks a million!

What are the pre-requisites? How could I find out if we are entitled to that area? It's my mum and a 19yo, 18yo, 16yo and a 15yo. Would that do? None of us are going to be going mad, like.

Thanks a million for lending a hand.

Just trying to find out what's our best options. :P

Star bar, so you are.

Anyone can camp in family camping...Within reason. The stewards will throw you off the area if you misbehave, remember there are lots of children there, so need to keep late night noise, swearing etc to a minimum, also you sometime gets woken early by children screaming and playing but we camp there every year and have done for the last 7 years.

This is what I got back from the Glastonbury Office

Top of the (urrrrm)…afternoon to you!

I’m afraid you would probably have problems trying to camp in family camping as it tends to be for families with younger children.

Your best bet would probably be to camp in one of the new camping areas, which are located near the bus station, Pedestrian gate A…next to ‘Woodsies’ OR to camp at the top of the site in Lime Kiln or Hitchin Hill Ground… http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/data...ineguidemap.jpg

Rather than being in the thick of it, one of the outer camping fields are likely to be more peaceful.

Best wishes
