Great news about Soulwax, I can't wait to be near the front in the open air having a dance. :P

Shame about the SoCo, I never drank anything out it but saw some great sets in there and it was really cool. Hopefully the Strongbow tent will be a suitable replacement.

Doves, Vampire Weekend then The Strokes? Thats pretty strong IMO although I doubt I'll see all three.

All in all great news, good to see the festival moving forward.

Onwards and upwards. :P

Back with its largest collection of genre-defying DJs to date, The Strongbow Rooms returns for this weekend's V Festival and, unlike the rest of the festival, has an entirely different lineup at each site.

While the rest of the bill at this year's V Festival will be hammering it up and down the M1 over Saturday night, The Strongbow Rooms boasts two unique lineups at the Chelmsford and Staffordshire sites - and they're both corkers!

Staffs sees 'Rooms legends Kris Bones, Justin Robertson, and Rob Da Bank back to what they do best, but the runaway highlights are likely to be breaks-masters Plump DJs playing The Strongbow Rooms for the first time on the Saturday night, as well as DJ Yoda closing on the Sunday. Expect some jaw-dropping innovation from the '80s cut-up kid! The full lineup for Staffs is as follows:

Saturday 20 August

Kris Bones 12.00 - 13.00

Bent 13.00 - 15.00

Lottie 15.00 - 17.00

Kris Bones 17.00 - 19.00

Plump DJs 19.00 - 21.00

Justin Robertson 21.00 - 23.00

Sunday 21 August

Kid Carpet (Live) 12:00 - 13:00

Barry Ashworth 13:00 - 15:00

Skitz and MCD 15:00 - 17:00

Rob da Bank 17:00 - 19:00

Mutiny 19:00 - 21:00

DJ Yoda 21:00 - 23:00

Down in Chelmsford the lineup is packed with some of the best DJs ever to emerge out of bands. There's Portishead's Andy Smith, ex-prodigy star Leeroy, Bez from The Happy Mondays, and Sam Hardaker from Zero 7. House-heads will be captivated by Yousef and breaks fans will be given a good dusting down by Evil 9. But VF's tip is for legendary producer Paul Epworth (he of Bloc Party, The Rakes, and Futureheads fame), who'll be playing the first slot on Saturday. The Chelmsford lineup is thus:

Saturday 20 August

Paul Epworth 12:00 - 14:00

Andy Smith 14:00 - 16:00

Cameo 16:00 - 17:00

Bez 17:00 - 18:30

Rob da Bank 18:30 - 21:00

Yousef 21:00 - 23:00

Sunday 21 August

Sam Hardaker 12:00 - 13:30

Evil 9 13:30 - 15:00

Leeroy 15:00 - 17:00

Krafty Kuts 17:00 - 19:00

The Glimmers 19:00 - 21:00

Kris Bones 21:00 - 23:00

thanks for the update poleski!

this makes things a bit interesting cause jim did say that one of the clash headliners had already been announced, not sure who it will be cause i can't really think of anyone big enough. i was sure it would be ian brown or doves. maybe it could be plan b? he is getting quite big now and i imagine he'd attract quite a big crowd... really hoping we get a dance headliner announced next week.

looking forward to soulwax on the main stage, they'd be good playing second top before leftfield. i know a lot of people will prefer them in a tent but i think you'll all be surprised.. i'm expecting them to be really good outdoors.

Strongbow Rooms (or thats what it used to be called) do other fests and it is always a cracking little set up.

Does that mean they are the 'prefered' supplier for cider for the festival?

the strongbow tent sounds good but i really hope they won't be the cider at rockness. i really liked the gaymers last year, it's much nicer and the pear is reeeeally nice.

that would be awful. bulmers tastes really bad.
