Surely My Chemical Romance are no bigger than My Bloody Valentine? - I believe they headlined the nme stage previously.

Has anyone actually listened to Beady Eye's album? It really ain't that good. Without the Gallagher tag in there, it would be discounted as generic crap by any respectable music fan.

Seeing as The National wouldn't play any higher than mid main stage at Reading (could possibly headline the tent though), FR booking them to headline one festival whilst having them in a comparably lowish slot at their other fest (even if it is bigger) makes the headline booking far less impressive - plus the ticket sales thing as you said - think it makes them very unlikely for Reading now, though thats just my logic.

Awful as it would be to see a band as good as Beastie Boys play under MCR, if Yauch is fit to play gigs could they be the sub-headliner? They'd certainly be a very strong one, and offer an alternative to MCR, which have been two criticisms of the 30 Seconds To Mars rumour. Not saying they're particularly likely, but just throwing it out there.

I saw them in 2009 headline the lock up stage, was absolutely packed. I wouldn't say theyre any bigger now though, but it would be a push for them to headline again, but I reckon they could easily play main stage on the 'heavier' day.
