Arguably the Manics are a bigger band in the UK than Smashing Pumpkins, Pixies or Blink 182. Maybe that's me being biased from being a huge fan of them, but then again I'm also a huge fan of the Pumpkins (see avatar) and Pixies.

Blink 182, not so much. ;)

But anyway, my point is that they could pull off 2nd headline well. They have the back catalogue and the history, not to mention them being one of those "festival bands". As much as I'd love them to headline the NME again as their set in 2008 was magical and a perfect end to the weekend, the booking would seem a bit uninspired, so high main would be the only current option.

Kasabian above Strokes? Are you having a laugh?

Even this year when Kasabians album has been out, they wouldnt be, nevermind next year.

I cant see the headliners being FF, Muse and Kasabian/Strokes, I have no idea what they would be, but that just doesnt sound right.

Second from top no worries, I think there's too much been there done that with them to headline.

Saying that, I haven't been there or done that for a good 8-9 years so would love to see them play again, them at V99 is one of the best shows I've seen, a massive f**k off performance after all the grief they got (deservedly) with their lacklustre Glasto show earlier in the summer

Rightio, i've tried to keep up with everything on here but failed.

Are the following "Strong Contenders"?

Foo Fighters, Franz Ferdinand, Primal Scream, RHCP, White Stripes (Depending on JW), Blur etc

Just wondering cos i've got to fork out £300 for a holiday anyway, and i don't want to add £180 onto that if the line ups going to be crap. Some of these bands will be touring anyway so thats my other option. :)
