Sell out?

Hi, I'm thinking of booking for EoTR this year, but have never been before. I've just a few questions..

1) Do tickets usually sell out -if so any ideas of roughly when?

2)My friends don't really share my taste in music, so I will prob go on my own - do many of you do this? I saw a thread from a few years ago for people travelling alone, do you all still have a camping area?

3) and the chances of The Nationl appearing are??? :P

Thanks Guys

I bought my ticket in July last year but I don't know about when it's likely to sell out. I'm sure someone here can tell you when it sold out last year.

As for going on your own, there's a 'billy no mates' camp usually for everyone who goes on their own. I went with a friend last year, but so far this year I'm going on my own unless anyone else decides come come along. I don't have any qualms about going on my own though, I met so many great people last year that I'm really looking forward to going on my own this year. You should definitely do it!

Also, I'm going to be driving down from the Colchester, Essex area and have 4 spare seats in my car if anyone from round here (or on route) wants to go and needs a lift for shared petrol money? PM me if you need a lift :P

Last year it sold out in mid-August: http://www.endoftheroadfestival.com/content/news/page/3/

But there were a few tickets being re-sold at the last minute, via the Facebook group: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.ph...5923&ref=ts

I would recommend going alone. It's a very pleasant, easy festival and people are friendly and there is, as Seadragon says, the (increasingly inaccurately named) Billy No Mates camp.

Oh I'm really glad to hear that there are other people going on their own! I wanted to go to EOTR last year but couldn't get anyone to go with me - my 'friends' don't do camping :P ) so I just thought to hell with it this year and booked my ticket a couple of months ago. I didn't realise there was a 'billy no mates' camping area.

I'm looking forward to the next announcement (later this week?) but the line up already looks good to me.

I should say that it's not an "official" camping area. It's just something that I kinda imported from Latitude and it's then grown and grown. There were about 30/40 of us last year, it was fabulous fun! It means there's always someone around to chat to - you can look after each others stuff, etc (not that that's really much of a consideration at EOTR - I think the only crime in the past four years has been that you couldn't camp on the Thursday and some clever person seems to have solved that one).

There'll be more details nearer the time. I'm always happy to swap mobile numbers so you can find us. We have a facebook group......

called "End of the Road - Happy Campers!" should you have difficulties.

Speaking of beverages, I wonder which brewery they'll get in this year? I was a teenie weenie bit disappointed with Shepherd Neame last year, but only because I'm from Kent and therefore there's an abundance of it around here. So purely selfish reasons.

Otter were great the year before. Wychwood would be incredibly welcome by me.

  • 4 weeks later...

I went alone last year and camped with Geof's unofficial billy no mates camp. This year I'm going with others but will probably still try to catch up with them as i had such an enjoyable time. I almost wish I was going alone again. I highly recommend it and wouldn't think twice about going to any festival alone as a result.

Get yourself a ticket and enjoy.

ooh, 100th post whoop.

I should add that even if you don't camp with others from on here, you can't fail to have a good time. The whole festival has such a friendly atmosphere you'll find yourself making friends all over the place. I don't think I have ever chatted to/drunk with/discussed music with as many random strangers as I did over the weekend of EOTR last year.

As for the National playing it seems less likely now as I think most of the main bands have already been announced. However they do tend to throw up a few late surprises so here's hoping :P
