Train vs Coach from London

Haven't caught the train to Glasto since 1992... but last time I got the coach it was a nightmare trying to get home on the Monday after the Festie - queuing for hours in the blistering heat, completely disorganised, terrible crushing and then a crawling journey. So we're thinking of the train option again.

Does anyone have any thoughts about either option?

After the 2007 coach catastrophe, things have improved. The new bus station is much bigger, with wide low-fenced lanes for people to wait in, as well as a food stall and loos.

I was up there in 2008 on Monday and people were lying out sunbathing, reading the Q review and generally chilling out in the sun. All looked very happy, if tired :P

There's still not much shelter up there though, so less fun if it's raining I'd imagine.

Where does the See coach drop you off once at Glasto? Is it a long walk to the Pyramid stage?

I'm going on the 6.30 London bus on my own as my friends only got festival tickets so the pressure is on me to get us a good spot, their preference is a Pyramid stage spot, my preference is the closest spot I can find as I will be carrying the tent all by myself.

Also, anyone else on that bus who fancies helpin me put my tent up???!!
