watched a programme on channel 4 the other night with a guy following obsessed people around. had to stop watching after the first. some woman wanted the crew to pay for her botox, which was basically the only reason she agreed to film. it looked horrible the procedure.

Tons of people look better after plastic surgery - the film stars were super beautiful before they started to get old, so what they are trying to do is recapture lost youth - never gonna happen.

That would be the downside of being gorgeous - when your looks do start to fade, it must be harder than if you've been average all youtr life, so they probably go to more extreme measures to try and hold on to it.

But for the average joe with a few issues, it's great.

And if you have more than a few issues, there's Extreme Makeover, some of the work they do on that show is amazing, they transform proper shuffling fuglies into attractive happy and confident people.

And it is not merely young vs old - Look at the skin tone, the shape of their faces and features, the texture of their skin - it's not aging. Those Nicole pictures are particularly bad, there are nice recent photos of her.

As for " in our infinite stupidity, we think one type of nose looks better than another" - aren't we evolutionarily (?) designed to favour symmetry and proportion in faces?
