Putting tent up on wednesday and coming back on thursday?

Hi, just wondering, would it be possible to come on tuesday evening, sleep in the car, set up the tent in a good spot in the morning, then get back to the car, get a couple of bikes out, and cycle to a friends house nearby, coming back on thursday evening?

Or is this unnecessary/not possible?

Thanks! :P

Definitely possible but not recommended. If this is your first (as I assume it will be) then you will miss out on a chance to have a look around the site when it's not so hectic. If possible, at least aim to get back on site around 3pm Thursday, just so you can have a wander in the daylight round before the bands start - will make your friday a lot smoother as well, knowing where things are :P

I agree with all of the above comments. Sorry to repeat the oft-quoted saying that Glastonbury isn't just about the music. If you walked the site for two days solid you still wouldn't see all there is to see, appreciate or enjoy. Once you're in stay and make the most of it.
