Top Tips for campervans

Hi, taking a campervan for the first time to glasto this year, always camped before! Any top tips from anyone? The hire place said to take a wheel barrow to carry the water containers? ANything else?

Find out where the towing eye is - probably in a box under the passenger seat. You might need it to get towed out the mud. Even if it doesn't rain it gets muddy around the water pipes.

Not sure why you need a wheelbarrow for the water, if it's a vw camper then theres no shower so wont need loads of water, and if it's a motorhome fill up the fresh water tank before you leave and it should last for nearly the whole festival. To be honest we just sleep in our motorhome so apart from a good breakfast we leave the van about 10:30 and dont normally get back until the early hours.

If you can be bothered fill up your water containers late at night as the queues are terrible in the mornings and the water pressure is crap as everybody is trying to fill up at the same time. Sometimes you can literally be standing there for 10 minutes to fill up one container.

I used to think that the camper fields were cheating but I've done it twice now and I think its a much better experience (apart from the hill of death on the way back of course)

We also tend to leave about 6.00am on the Monday morning and have never been stuck in a queue to get out.
